That's the optimist's interpretation of it, the pessimist would interpret it as either Schefter knows Frazier isn't interested or Buffalo is going to hire someone completely ridiculous. 2 weeks ago I was an optimist, but now.......

Adam Schefter on ESPN today said "something tells me Leslie Frazier will NOT be the Bills next HC". Uh-Oh.......

I was thinking this as well, supposedly stuff like this is well known among coaches and their agents. I suppose that if this week the Bills don't do any more interviews we can be certain that Frazier is going to be hired.

Which means absolutely nothing.

Off the top of my head I know Parcells turned down Tampa Bay at least once, Jason Garrett has turned down a few teams recently, Cowher turned down the Jets and the Skins, and Belichick turned down the Jets. I'll see if I can find more. Because we all know that no other coach has ever turned down a coaching offer from an NFL team. Let's just wallow in our own insecurities!

Easy-just run a 3-4 defense!

Arizona's defense has been getting carved up the last 2 weeks. They should switch to a 3-4......oh wait....

Because they interviewed him the last time around.

Hiring an emotional, offensive minded coach who will install a 3-4 defense has just as much of a chance ending up in failure as hiring a calm, defensive minded coach who will keep our 4-3 defense. The 3-4 defense isn't some silver bullet either. The Browns, Chiefs, and Dolphins had worse defenses with the Bills while the Steelers, Broncos, and Cardinals only averaged 0.01 points allowed per game less than the Bills and their reviled Tampa 2 scheme.

Say this out loud a few times and you'll go insane, "The Bills were 5-1 in 2008."

We should just hire a guy just to hire a guy. Get a crappy coordinator from a crappy team who didn't make the playoffs. Or maybe a former HC who has failed somewhere else. Then the "We don't have a coach" threads can become the "Can you believe we hired this loser" threads.

I've come around on the possibility of Frazier becoming our next HC. He sounds like an impressive guy.

We should be more worried who our QB is going to be 2010 and beyond.

We certainly wouldn't have a "Pop Warner" offense, that's for sure. The two things I like about the jets offense was how they use motion and the misdirection running plays they run. Compare that to AVP, how many different running plays did we run. maybe 3? The toss, straight up the gut, and that shotgun hand-off are all I can think of right now.

He's clearly blinded by OBD's "Beast Mode" marketing blitz of the last 3 years. If Lynch wasn't a uniquely marketable player and "Beast Mode" was just called "Breaking Tackles" you wouldn't see all these bizarre rationalizations of Lynch's off the field antics. I don't remember any weird conspiracy theories about Anthony Hargrove or Ko Simpson. I suppose if they had cool nicknames they'd still be here!
