  1. welcome to this Board Anthony, and nice 1st post. Other than the retractor, I enjoyed a well written, solid take devoid of massive spelling/punctuation/grammatical errors, which several of our more infamous posters are known for....... In all honesty, Darnold was my guy but I am pulling hard for Allen to overcome his challenges and succeed in spades. Seems like he will fit in well with the culture of WNY. Taking the contrarian view, if not Darnold I wanted Jackson (for multiple reasons)
  2. maybe that was for his prom theme too.....watch how fast this makes it to Deadspin.com
  3. another reason not to pick Allen
  4. Guys, thanks for all the advice/banter on where to go to watch. I am local after moving back to Bflo over a year ago (......after being in ATL for 25 years - can you say time warp? ). I have never watched a Bills draft in Buffalo with other Mafiosi. I just tried to book a table at 716 - totally booked. I imagine it will be nuts there. I am on the north side which kind of rules out Big Tree, so I think Amherst Ale House is going to be the happy medium.
  5. I agree w/ you Yolo but I'd go one step further - I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see the Bills snatch him
  6. hope you stay in Probation status for quite a while - especially sophomoric is your hackneyed thread title.......makes you look small & petty
  7. I swear this is Groundhog Day.......
  8. how true, we are seemingly born into it ....
  9. OTOH, he may actually choose to go rouge (sic) and disappear ........ For those wondering, the word is rogue - a (n) homage to Thurm -
  10. I watched Michel ball for 4 years @ UGA, he'd be a real good get ....... since it seems half the board sees Lamar Jackson as a WR or "Tyrod 2.0", he is my choice
  11. Hell to the no - and the draft can't come soon enough.
  12. If I read this one more time I may throw up ......
  13. OK Nostradamus, preach on .......and it's not "Roguin" Smith, it's Roquan
  14. My thought is that a take is not suggesting something may or not happen; I'd call that ambivalence
  15. yep, and he calls them "Buffalo wings" to boot
  16. http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/story/_/id/23043558/sam-darnold-switches-flight-throw-ronald-jones-ii reinforces my belief that Sam is a team-first guy and would be a great cultural fit in Buffalo - one can hope
  17. good stuff, very informative - I have warmed up to Jackson as well...
  18. no, I sure do remember the Dick Jauron era. Sheer vanilla boredom. If calm/serenity & keeping it steady are your top priorities, then that's great. For me, personally, I don't get much satisfaction from 8-8, 7-9 seasons of mediocrity. I just don't get it. Why can't you have both: a winning team with playoff/championship behavior while having your beer/hot dogs AND wearing your Josh Reed jersey?
  19. I think you are conflating trading up with sitting back and letting the draft come to you. Plus, you do not know with 100% certainty that we will greatly overpay. A premium, yes.
  20. with all due respect, is this an attempt at humor/sarcasm? I ask this sincerely. Your first paragraph reeks of the classic Buffalo inferiority complex....Patriot fans make fun of your team? Do they beat you up and steal your lunchbox too? 7-9 and 8-8 seasons, year in and year out, allow you to feel good? I almost feel sorry for this take, it is so self-loathing. Since when is a 7-9 season a bigger priority than finding a potential franchise QB? If we are successful in our pursuit, we then turn our attention to filling holes through remaining picks and FA, especially FA next year. I believe an overwhelming majority of TBD members could swallow a poor season if we were to get the QB conundrum solved. Success, and wins, will follow. If you truly were trying to be funny/sarcastic, then I stand corrected and you have my apology. But if not, this is a sheer embarrassment.
  21. I am 100% on board with the "what I want" you are stating
  22. IMHO, not the winning strategy for getting the QB you want. Behaving passively will get us know nowhere, and if we act in this manner we will deserve what we get
