What's the over/under on Rex getting fired after 2 years?
BuffaninATL replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMHO this is a stretch. Penalties are but one are several reasons for the Ills mediocrity, but I believe your bolded statement is not grounded in reality. -
Not one sack?? Flush $1 million down the drain.

are you implying Rex was Whaley's hire ? -

thanks Yogi Berra, I'd have to agree ...... -
please post more great takes like this one - we should all be honored. Was this a joke or a real post? that's a lot of IF s

I'm glad someone is speaking up about this. It's obvious the Bills front 4's talents are not being optimized. And now I am out walking the dog trying to listen to Beavis & Butthead (Schopp & the Bulldog) trying to defend those calling in to critique this team. I had to turn it off; it's painful. please post some more. We need great takes on how and why a 290 lb DE should be dropping into pass coverage.

Week 6: BILLS v Bengals - Second Half Thread
BuffaninATL replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw Kyle Williams on one play literally walking around near the line of scrimmage with no purpose whatsoever as the ball was snapped. I do not understand this scheme whatsoever. -

plus the D Moore fair catch inside is own 5. I don't know how Crossman still has a job. -

what is funnier (or more awful) is that neither Spiro nor Solly said a word about it. This has been a terrible performance all the way up to the booth. I even heard Wilcots mention "getting to the THIRD level" today. -
Week 6: BILLS v Bengals - Second Half Thread
BuffaninATL replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have watched this team all my life and I cannot remember liking it less. I think it's b/c the talent is there and they are colossally underperforming. I think Dalton had 6+ seconds on the last drive with a conversion to AJ Green. To me the D is playing like they have not bought into Rex's "system". -

I do think if I am Terry I am having a sit down with Rex; whatever he has done has neutered this team. -

Shady Listed as Proable for Sunday vs. Cincinnati
BuffaninATL replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's my .02: while I respect everyone's input & opinion on this Board and specifically on this topic, there are few things which seems apparent to me: there are lots of armchair physicians on TBD who think they know how an injured hamstring heals and what the risk of re-injury is; hence, LOTS of premature & unfounded speculation other opinions suggesting that Shady is only playing b/c he wants to "gut it out", esp, with Karlos being out. News flash: as another poster pointed out, if the MEDICAL STAFF clears Shady to play, then he does; this decision is not made in a vacuum Many people here seem to forget the simple fact that when Shady knew his injury made him a liability, he was smart enough to remove himself and avoid further damage Judging by how he has just said how good he feels, plus being cleared by the MDs, should give us all we need to know -
Shady Listed as Proable for Sunday vs. Cincinnati
BuffaninATL replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand your concern John but everyone here knows Shady is an entirely different type of back than Karlos. How do you know if Karlos was playing we'd still be resting Shady? Or is that just your opinion? This is Cinci, not Miami or Tenn. -
Week 6 predictions: Bengals at Bills
BuffaninATL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
all I know is that the Bills seem to be a different team at home; too much emotion & dumb penalties. If they can rein this in, we have a shot. If we give the Bengals 100-125 yrs. in penalties and extra sets of downs, we are toast. -
Turnover on the Opening Kick Return
BuffaninATL replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not sure how to address your question other than to say when a new kicker who has had less than 1 week of practice decides to slowly stroll up to the ball on the kickoff, it is somewhat understandable how someone on the kickoff team is out of sync and went offsides. -
Turnover on the Opening Kick Return
BuffaninATL replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It needs to be stated that a mitigating factor causing the offsides was a new kicker (Cundiff) who's approach and pace to the kickoff was noticeably slower than usual. I am not defending the penalty itself, b/c the Bills have way too many ST penalties, but it happened with a kicker who had just been signed within the week leading up to the game. Maybe that's one contributing factor to Cundiff getting the axe. -
Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
BuffaninATL replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched it happen and would not recommend watching the replay for the faint of heart; it was gruesome & grotesque. On the freaking first play of the game from scrimmage. This kid is so grounded & humble, I feel terrible for him. Right now UGA is saying they are hopeful surgery can be avoided which I find hard to believe. -
Carucci: Disconnect exists between DL and scheme
BuffaninATL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure Vic's calling the dline a bust, Lurker; to deny there is something amiss is to ignore reality, however. It's been commented on TBD by me and others that this constant posturing, shifting (in attempt to cause confusion as to who might be blitzing), guys standing upright barely in any position to attack, etc. all seem to be emasculating this front four. How else to describe the blatantly obvious drop in production. And don't even get me started about things like lining up K Williams @ DE. What else other than Rex's scheme changed between this year and the 2 years past ? NOTHING it's not individual stats, Yolo; you're missing the point - it's a noticeable dropoff in overall pressure/stats by the entire DL -
10 pushups? Rex, are you kidding me?
BuffaninATL replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just a guess, but maybe b/c 10 pushups is like (barely) a slap on the wrist. The only punitive measure which will work is to sit the offender's ass down until he gets the message. Playing time is the gold standard; take that away and it's a carrot/stick approach. -
thanks JC !

Evaluating the remainder of the schedule
BuffaninATL replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know what to predict b/c the NFL is a copycat league and the word gets around on how to beat a certain team. Unless this version of this Bills shows some leadership, accountability, & self-control, I see more games like the one vs. the Giants. The wins over the Colts & Dolphins were over vastly inferior teams; that's why I was MEH after the game @ Miami. I am not a pessimist, BTW, just a realist. I don't see Rex "learning from his mistakes" while HC of the Jests. -
