I'd like to see Sully & Bucky try to attack Whaley again for trading Cassel to Dallas. 13/25, 97 yard performance, utterly statuesque on the last possession ....yep, that's who we wanted as our #2 -

Terrible blown call in the Cowboys- Seahawks game; once again an errant call directly impacting the score and game on the field. To add insult to injury, they refused to give Jason Garrett an explanation. -
Just can't re-boot the enthusiasm

doesn't matter how it happened; it further exposed the folly of taking EJ in the 1st round. Aside from his q2 implosion, there were plenty of other gaffes made by EJ, 2 of which are his M.O.: missing guys badly, esp. on swing/dumpoffs, and poor field vision (i.e., Gragg & Clay wide open in the EZ) surely you jest I don't think it was the players talking that nonsense; I believe it was Rex. Equally as bad if not worse for him to say it. Complete buffoonery. -

Tim Murray: Footbal Czar?

time to revisit that OP title ...... would "Sczar" be a portmanteau be a combination of super and czar ?? fixed -
great post = big picture. Rex's record and MO speaks for itself.

Final TD hold against Hughes
BuffaninATL replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So was the Phantom PI call "totally take down obvious" as well. There has been a maddening inconsistency on game-deciding calls across the NFL; it's not just the Bills. Belichick is on to something with his call for reviews of all plays; if the Robey PI call had been reviewed it surely would have been overturned. There is too much money & visibility on these games. -
What the Models Predict for the Rest of the Season
BuffaninATL replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this isn't training camp; the errors and penalties are a reflection of Rex as a poor HC: terrible self-discipline, playing with too much emotion/playing dumb, substandard tackling, giving up too much cushion to WRs at the LOS, giving up critical 1st down conversions on 3rd & long, terrible ST penalties, etc etc. I could go on, but you get the picture. Rex had to be called out after 6 games by his DL for his crappy scheme which has been neutering the talent of the front 4. I hate to say it but all these things may not be correctable over a bye week. It's a cultural problem which seems to be a hallmark of Rex's teams. -
Bills player I'm done with
BuffaninATL replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about you understanding I'm not hating on anyone, just questioning the value and contributions of certain players. And I'm NOT hating on Pegula, I am actually very interested to know what he might be thinking about his hire of Rex Ryan. I also stand by comments on Crossman & the ST play; are you happy with both? -
Bills player I'm done with
BuffaninATL replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see what TPeg's reaction to this season will be if it continues as is. The Bills have to be the most underachieving team and it's only coming up on week 7. Rex's hire has proven to date to be a poor ROI. Rex now publicly admits he has misused his top DL assets. His ST is a flaming tire fire. If he had any aspirations of imposing discipline and sending a message, he would have cut Ron Brooks Monday AM. Crossman should have been canned already; our ST is an abomination. My votes: Mulligan Brooks Duke Goodwin D Moore -

What is happening on Defense?
BuffaninATL replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this may have been mentioned elsewhere upthread, and if so, I apologize; but what concerns me other than a blatant misuse of the talent we have is the players' comments that they are "not on the same page" and "having communication problems". This is not TC, it's week 7 in the NFL. Maybe "exotic blitz packages" is a bad euphemism for square peg/round hole that Rex is so adamantly forcing on this team. This, along with the ST/penalties fiascoes, could easily make the Bills the most underachieving team of 2015. -

I have an idea: the OP makes very valid points and your take is weak. Constantly defending this rubbish that is the 2015 Bills on the air, as Beavis & Butthead (aka Schopp & the Bulldog) are so prone to do, comes off as extremely parochial, myopic, and misleading. Intellectual dishonesty is an apt description. I tried to listen to the post-game show this past Sunday and I couldn't last too long. There is a point after which the blatant imbalance of the radio broadcast makes WGR550 appear to sound bush league, and, frankly, minor league. FWIW, I do enjoy some of the other on-air talent: Howard & Sal come to find. But the banality, bluster, & arrogance of B & B dominate the reputation of WGR550 in a negative way. Maybe it's not. I happen to think the OP made some valid points. And how you came up with the 98% accusation is beyond me. If you're going to disagree with someone and/or call someone out, you'd have a sliver of credibility if you could back up your opinion with something resembling a reasoned argument, or some approach other than throwing stones. great points, could you please take it easy on the apostrophes (... as in plurals which don't require them). Sorry to come off as a punctuation Nazi, but it's a tough read) -
No one is expecting perfection from EJ but the same glaring errors & shortcomings are there, and seemingly not getting any better. To wit: not seeing wide open targets, putting his receivers in dangerous & compromising positions, missing on wide open swing passes (the shortest ones possible, I might add), throwing behind/at guys' shoetops, the same tendencies and results. Your premise that those critiquing EJ are expecting too much from him and "he makes a couple mistakes" is a red herring. Are you not seeing the things I pointed out, or just refusing to acknowledging them?

and how exactly is this not on Manuel?

may the "Shwarts" be with you too RichVP..... a very good & valid point. Too many self-anointed Board police looking to follow some sort of protocol; God forbid a topic discussed again after several months, under different circumstances & context, be suggested for a new discussion....
-
You are missing out on the broader context: HOW they are losing & underperforming: 1) tons of penalties & overall undisciplined play; 2) terrible ST play which points to poor coaching; 3) a defensive scheme not suited to the strengths of the personnel and now you hear players dissatisfied with it; 4) zero pass rush and near absent sacks; 5) disturbing inability to get off the field on 3rd down as critical parts of games. If you are sick of the injury excuse, it starts with our head coach. He couldn't stop himself from alluding to injuries multiple times during his presser. If he had any stones he'd fire Crossman right now....."we can't run a ST play w/out a penalty being called". Not a ringing endorsement. red herring

who cares what those teams combined record is? is that supposed to be some rationalization, or what's next? the Bills should be getting participation awards? the wins over Miami & Tenn were borderline pathetic I would argue the scheme Rex runs creates a lot of confusion and Bills defenders being caught out of position. Injured or not, you can't win by giving a team like the Bengals 34. This was a game our D needed to step up and help a backup QB with a depleted offense, and the Bills D failed.

I am with you 1000% but the $9m question is whether the Pegulas will see this tire fire for what it is and actively address things instead of letting the Titanic sink, a la Ralph Wilson. What is especially maddening is that the talent is there but the combination of poor defensive scheme (not utilizing the talent we do have), undisciplined/penalized nonsense, terrible ST coaching/performance, and overall underachieving. Then I have to listen to those all-star hacks from WGR550, Beavis & Butthead, as they defend this team and say "they're only 3-3, and the rest of the AFC sucks, so don't worry." The wins over Miami & Tenn were complete garbage, and we were blown out by NE, Cinci, & the Giants. Now some of the d-line is starting to speak out with dissatisfaction about Rex's d-scheme. To top it all off, Rex tries to play the injury card in his post-game presser. Memo to Rex; how about exhibiting some accountability & leadership by 1) firing Crossman, as in yesterday; 2) bench/fine anyone who commits any idiotic personal conduct penalty.
