  1. Lets hope Buddy and Darcy can break this. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;sportCat=nfl
  2. Love everyones picks..seems most are onboard with the needs of this team. However, our needs are going to change once FA period begins so I am going to wait until then. I will however search for this in the archives and re post..fair enough? I know alot wont want to hear this, but its a good chance Vick comes here. If that happens, then its vick, brohm, then fitzy and edwards fighting it out for the final spot..I see fitz the winner. Time will tell for sure.
  3. Ah...Parish..I forgot about him! He def may be gone.
  4. Not fast enough...cant cover the top and wont be quick enough to come from left field and support the run.
  5. All good choices...thanks
  6. The thing is...if ..i mean when we go to a 3-4...ellison wont hold up, he is just too small. Whitner would provide depth, but what if this FO wants to make a statement?
  7. I dont mean this in a nasty way...can you explain to me what makes whitner good? I just dont see it. I think he talks the talk...you know the rest. Youboty is always hurt..and back to what nix said..its a tough mans game and you have to be tough. We have players that dont play thru injury.
  8. Thats a great point..I think fitzpatrick has more pocket presence than edwards and he is better at playing in the elements. Those are the 2 intangables I see that is the big difference. And your right, they arent commited to any of them, but how can you get rid of all of them and find replacements? Time will tell I guess. The next few months are going to be interesting to say the least.
  9. You think Denney because of Special Teams?
  10. I totally understand your question marks. Fitzpatrick is a serviceable number 2..can manage a game but only for a few game stretch. Trent is always hurt and just doesnt have the moxy, I believe nix will see this and say good riddens, he just isnt tough enough. And Hamden, well he is awful..ever see him play in pre season? Brohm will be given a shot. And on to lynch, the kid is a nut case and always in trouble, doesnt see the hole and lacks vision. There was a game this year where we were getting crushed and lynch is on the sidelines laughing..im sorry I dont remember which game it was...but I dont think the new FO wants that kind of attitude on the team Thanks for your input!
  11. I think people see his potential just like fred jackson a few years back.
  12. With the chatter coming from the FO and new head coach, one has to believe Many a Bill are a little nervous right now. How about we have some fun with this and pick 10 that are safe and 10 that are gone. I will start. SAFE....Fred Jackson, Levitre, Wood, Nelson, Byrd, Stroud, Williams, Fitzpatrick, Evans, Stevie Johnson. GONE...Edwards, Hamden, Ellison, Whitner, Lynch, Denney, Mccargo, Palmer, Youbuty, Corto. I know everyone will have their own opinions on who stays and goes, just interested to see what everyone else thinks. Also, I took no consideration into where players were drafted for obvious reasons.
  13. We have some talent at the skill positions, but where we lack is our linebacking corps and in the trenches. With out that your pretty screwed. Hopefully we get it fixed.
  14. Dont think I was planning on apologizing to you, sorry for the dissapointment. Enjoy your glass is half empty cool aid. I will be remaining optimistic and give the guy a chance. I am not so sure being bitter all the time like you appear to be is much fun. And i certainly dont understand people on here, they B word when we dont have a football guy running things and they B word when we do. To me that is "insanity".
  15. I think your gun is empty
  16. LOL..Jerry Sullivan. Thanks.
  17. Nice try ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddy_Nix
  18. Can you post the link ? I am not sure about that one!
  19. I am not so sure "lil donte" And nix are the same. Nix has been eating, sleeping and breathing football for more than half his life. I dont think he is acting like a "bully". Looks to me like he is trying to change the losing laid back culture of the franchise. Last I checked there is only 32 teams and not everyone gets to be a GM. However, theres a reason he was the assistant in San Diego, take a look at how they are doing. They are a small market also. And did you ever stop and think why he came here last year as a scout? It looks to me like he was brought here to really eveluate things for the next year and take over. Think about it? I am not saying we are not dysfunctional at the moment, but at least we have a football guy finally running that side of the house and not a marketing guy. Just sayin.
  20. I cant believe I just read this...nuff said
  21. He has done alot..take a look at his career before you shoot from the hip.
  22. I love that he tells it like it is...and defends his turf as well. The guy has got some balls..exactly what this team needs.
  23. ME TOO!!!! I was just thinking that...donte has a big bark but no bite.
  24. Very seasoned thats for sure. Question is, does he want to leave pittsburgh at this stage in his career. If you read down it states he plans on retiring in 2012.
