  1. So what did everyone else think about the new D ? If they can keep gelling the skies the limit. The linebacking corps played great but Ron Brooks concerns me. He seems lost in the sauce. Wasnt it great to see blitzes and stunts ??? Damn we had one crummy vanilla D last year.
  2. 50,000 total students by 2020. There will be 3 campuses, 1 being downtown. The school of nursing will be there along w some others. But none of the campuses are "moving". They are just strategically re-locating some of the different areas of study to fit the vision and needs of our community. I do wish UB would throw in a few fluff academic programs so they could build some power house athletic teams. That's not going to happen anytime soon but one could wish. So an area decides to shift gears to a new industry because the old ones were dead isn't good? Sure there is always risk, but it is certainly better than doing nothing. And most cities that are under develop get grant money etc....it is how it works. People pay taxes and when their is a surplus it needs to back to the people. In this case it is job creation for the city. We have all bitched for so long that the City gets nothing and now we do and we B word. For years money flowed to NYC and we bitched. What direction should of Buffalo had gone if not medical? It worked for Raleigh- just sayin. I am proud of what is going on and frankly don't care who is surrounding us. We can beat them and be the best.
  3. spot on check out the medical corridor and canalside....good stuff
  4. Here is the deal, or just my take on it. The Buffalo area hasn't had the "economic means" for 3 decades now. That is why they spent a lot of effort marketing the Bills and it worked! Guess what, the Bills didn't go anywhere. If you factor in the populations of Buffalo, Rochester, and Southern Ontario your talking 6 mil give or take a few. Couple that with our economy here in Buffalo being on the mend and I have to respectfully disagree. The Bills aren't going anywhere my friend. Peel the onion back some and take a look at what is happening here. I never thought we would see the day but the city is rebuilding. Also take a look at the housing market here. These are all key indicators. I expect within 6 years a nice new stadium downtown near canalside.
  5. white trousers are the required sunmer blues trousers my friend
  6. Looked like both were just having a little fun. I served 21 in the Corps and retired as a Gunny. Maybe Gunz was just back from a lengthy deployment and needed to unwind some. Regardless, who cares really??? Marine is a title. It may fall on either side of what is actually proper but take it from a Marine, it's capitalized and I am sure 5 million other former and current Marines would concur.
  7. I think folk like myself in the medical profession would tend to disagree. We fully understand how damage to a vertebrae, disk, spinal cord etc can impact a patient.
  8. Sorry if this was discussed already. I know most of us are familiar with the new medical corridor and canalside. Heres a nice link from the ny times its great to see Buffalo on its way back. I post this because we are all proud Buffalonians and im even more optimistic for a stadium on the Buffalo waterfront. The dirty politics are not as significant in Erie County anymore and they are still alive and well in Niagara county so no stadium will go in NF. Enjoy the link and go Bills. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/31/realestate/commercial/once-a-punch-line-buffalo-fights-back.html?smid=fb-share&_r=0
  9. Ha there really isn't much difference between the Bills and the Lions is there. Every once in awhile a blind squirrel gets a nut. As of recent it was the Lions turn.
  10. great point and I know there are some nice burbs etc....but the area as a whole has been hit very hard. Im wondering how much tax money also helps to fund the teams as well and may be a small portion of why the place is so broke. There is 82,000 vacant buildings in Detroit and I could go on and on w other statistics. I guess my point it what comes first...pro teams or infrastructure of an area. I just smell alot of stink and lack of priorities I guess. I am sure the local populis of Detroit has more insight than we do.
  11. Ok here is something that has baffled me for years. From 1950 until now Detroit has gone from 2 million people to 700 thousand people. The city is completely broke, infrastructure and services in total dissaray and much of the population is well below the poverty level. My serious question is, how in the heck does the city afford to have 4 major sports teams?
  12. Not everyone is on this site everyday and maybe OP didn't realize it was already discussed or doesn't know how to find the older discussions. We should just let the moderators determine if said thread needs to be closed. The guy only has posted 2 times compared to your 2049. Just saying
  13. And Easley is certainly on a short leash right now.
  14. Im not ready to say anything is improved until this team starts provin it on the field. Rookies are unproven commodities so not drinkin the kool aid.
  15. Valid points im reslectfully leaning more towards tjax simply stinking it up as he always has. Im just a firm believer trends dont lie and in this case tjax has set a trend in the nfl as bein inadequate on the field.
  16. Why does it matter? T jax has been bounced around and has stunk it up. We were just dumb enough to waste a 7th. Manuel will be the starter day 1, kolb back up and then the 3 will be truel or someone else but truel has no impact on decisions
  17. CJ Spiller and Kyle Williams hands down. For me they were easy choices.
  18. The key word you used is potential. Thats all it is right now. Lets not forget the Reed, Lofton, Beebe, Metzelaars and Thurman out of the back field years. Not raining on your parade but these rooks have to prove it on the field along with Graham, who had cinder block hands at times last year. No kool aid for me yet.
