I can never follow the logic of Whaley missing on the Marrone hire. Whaley didn't have the job yet and frankly Marrone did a nice job for the Bills before he just quit on the team. On your grooming EJ comments you have to put some of the responsibility on the player. EJ was a reach at the 16th pick. He was also put into action because of injuries to other players so the grooming plans kinda went out the window. The question is whether EJ is a guy that can be groomed into a solid starter. Finally Shananan really is not a great coach. Having Elway and TD is a pretty good advantage to have as a coach. If you recall that after the SBs Pat Bowlen announced that Mike Shananan had the job for life. Turns out that was only the case if he could win without Elway and TD. DC was a disaster as you pointed out so I don't know why we'd look at him when our team is on the rise but is lacking the answer at QB and could easily slip back to our non winning ways. Sure Marrone quit, me personally I never saw Marrone as a good coach. Your right about the QB plan going south and maybe we reached at 16 - that being said 14 games just isnt enough for many young qb's. A larger sample size is needed for my opinion to change. That being said the kid has a very small sample size of play with a lousy coordinator and a terrible offensive line. I am not ready to write him off yet. -Totally agree with you on Spiller. He is awful in pass protection, doesnt break tackles, lacks vision, and bounces outside too quickly. That being said he doesnt deserve to be called a bag of poo. He has never caused problems and has worked hard, hes just a skat back and needs to be utilized accordingly. -fred stays for one more year, this team needs leadership and a third down back. He will fill that role nicely. Running backs can be had in free agency. Time to draft a few guards and a QB rd 4-5. And find the best available FA QB. -TE needs to be addressed in the worst way possible. Please get rid of Lee Smith damn he's awful A good HC and OC, keep Schwartz and we will be OK.

It is far from chaos. The media loves to stoke the fire. Marrone is a marginal head coach and Polian is freakin 72. Being an exec in the NFL is a young mans game no matter what capacity. Truth be told I think things worked out great. Orton sucks, Marrone will never be nothing more than mediocre and if he gets the jets job omg haha they have a **** roster! And lets all be high fiving when the first thing the new coach does is can Hackett. The best thing the team can do if they dont hire Schwartz as HC is give him loads of cash and assistant coach title! He has so much talent on defense its serves him well to stay and then in 2016 go for a HC gig again. Also rewind to the Houston oilers...when they went thru relocation etc...it lead to great things for the Titans. It is exactly what this team needs. We have alot of talent and are missing some pieces here and there.

He is long gone. And when Marrone interviews I guarantee one of the stipulations will be that he CANNOT BRING HACKETT! I really think Marrone opting out is for the best. And I really think Whaley wanted Marrone to fire Hackett and that started the whole rift. All speculation of course but what my educated guess is.

Another good interview as well. And Cinci has a nice program he could bring his offense along with the leadership learned from Lewis. I like the idea of having a coach on his second stint. The good ones learn from their mistakes such as Pete Carrol.

The league rule is a team must interview 1 minority coach so who will it be? And is that coach a bonifide possibility? I cannot think of many minority coaches out there right now. Most are already locked up in their current positions.

I agree its not but happens all the time. And theres so much more that goes on. My point is what Suh did was wrong, he got caught...but the punishment didnt fit the infraction.

Im not defending Suh at all. Football is a rough sport and anyone that has played the game knows there is alot worse going on throughout the course of the game. In the big picture, take Suhs name out of it and let it be any player, and what I saw was in fact childs play. I remember being at the bottom of the pile having my eyes gouged and bony promininces intentionally thrust in to me. This incident was weak at best.

Here here!!!!! I have not written him off yet, some QBs take time to develop, some don't and some never do. We definitely have to actively pursue a veteran QB for competition and security.
