  1. Totally agree. I would love for them to sign Bertrand Berry. He would be a perfect bridge to our DE in the draft. Berry would play most of the passing downs, which would give the rookie some playing time as Berry is not an every down DE (IMO). Berry could show a young prospect how to get to the QB on the field.
  2. I would take out Parrish in this 4 WR set and install Johnson. I think this could be his position until he either learns or is needed on the outside.
  3. He was never a deep threat. And is exactly a possession over the middle guy.
  4. I hope this is our attempt (lame as it may be), to show Coles we are looking at other WR's. I live in Charlotte and saw Colbert play. Saying his strengths are his route running and hands, doesn't mean they are strong. They are just strengths compared to how terrible he does everything else. Seriously!
  5. Your analogies are genius. Every time I read something you post, I instantly hate myself for coming to this site.
  6. A 3rd is too much. Denver won't get more than a 4th.
  7. I agree just not this year. Signing a 31 year old receiver is the perfect storm. It gives us a veteran that can get open and make the tough catches, which is critical to Edward's development. It will push Hardy and Johnson. And lastly, will be a great transition because you only expect Coles to stay around for a couple of years.
  8. There was a record on franchise tags, a ton of free agents in the market, and I would argue a very large amount of signings the first two days. Not sure I agree with your post.
  9. The fact he is 31 makes me even more interested. I don't want a 26 or 27 year old receiver that wants a 6 year deal. This would mean we are giving up (in some respect) on our young receivers. Give me a 31 year old proven veteren receiver for two reason's. Number one to transition to Hardy or Johnson, number two the length of the contract. You can sign a guy like Coles to a 3 year deal and if Hardy/Johnson are ready, you let Coles go the last year. Front load the contract so Coles will come, use him for what we need him for, and transition to the young talent. This is how the teams that are consistently good do it.
  10. I can't understand why you never liked the guy. We don't need height necessarily on the other side just someone to command attention, to free up our deep threat in Evans. A guy with height is usually what fits this bill, but sometimes a guy of Coles stature is tough enough to command the needed attention. To be the #2 with a speed threat on the opposite side you must be a threat over the middle, be willing to take a hit, be a good route runner that finds the holes in a defense, and have the hands to make catches while getting hit. These are the things Coles does great. He makes perfect sense. He is 31 and and he is very durable. Missed 4 games in 8 years.
  11. They never said he didn't want to come to Buffalo.
  12. I know it seems that way, but maybe the most frustrating thing is .... we don't know if they are doing that or if the Bills just stop pursuing guys when the price gets too high for them.
  13. Brown signed with St. Louis
  14. I disagree. These guys are more than just fan's on the internet. They actually have some good sources. Chris Brown didn't even say it. There is a little caption on the Bills website that says "Coles departs Buffalo without a deal". I think that he left the facility, but could still be physically in town.
  15. Everything I am reading is saying Coles is still in Buffalo, and staying the night.
  16. You couldn't be more wrong. Coles is not a "go deep" type of receiver, never was. He is a take a 5 yard pass and do something with it guy.
  17. According to Buffalo Rumblings, Coles hasn't left. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/2/27/...coles-fitzpatri
  18. You're not a wannabe, if you cut your wife's head off.
  19. I like this Mock especially with the players that are gone before 11, it would be great to trade down. Question for the group. If Maybin isn't taken the pick before us in this Mock, do we take him over Jerry?
  20. So you're one of those guys that complains about taxes being too high, but doesn't vote? Ok, I obviously underestimated how irrelevant your comments are then.
  21. But yet you and I will still buy the jersey's, tickets, etc that contradicts your statement and says "you are worth 1 Mil a game". So instead of saying he's not worth it, let's say " hey I am paying either way, so why not get these type of impact players on my team"?
