FWIW, Hardy got paid for giving-up #81

Hardy's a bum? What a witless comment. -
Buffalo Bills, 0-1

I am hoping for some Brady rust, and we capitalize on it. I think its entirely possible we could win. -
Do we have some of the pieces already?
Buffalonian-at-Heart replied to atlbillsfan1975's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think there is anyone on this list we should "give up on". However this team needs IMPACT players at several key positions. These players are nice topics of discussion for possible developmental players that could possible contribute one day. But pieces to the holes in our team, they are not. The likelihood of them developing into starters isn't probable, the likelihood of them contributing is hopeful, but these are not the kind of players you count on to take you to the NEXT level. I hope this doesn't sound like I am down on any of these guys, just not don't believe they are answers, at least not yet. -

You mean like talking about Hardy? -

Show me where in your opening statement that you said, insinuated, or tried to make the point that you think McCargo may be a good player on another team? Since you keep mentioning that I missed your point a long time ago. "If you don't know then you don't know the game; probably a bandwagon fan who judges players by what others say! Whoever is the flavor of the month to bash you scoop it up!" You went in way over your head with your weak argument to support McCargo on this team or any other, and your slipping man. Maybe you just need a good nights sleep, although I personally don't think that will help you. This is why sheep like you grow hair over your eyes, your just not meant to see. But to be lead. -

Thank you for proving my point. You lost the McCargo argument and had to revert to Hardy and insinuate that I have given up on him. It's beyond me that you can deny that McCargo has underperformed in lieu of playing time. I guess the bottom line is you think he hasn't had opportunity and I do. And of course I think he has squandered opportunity with lack of heart, conditioning, and poor play when given the multiple chances this team has given him to succeed. Don't forget wise guy, that you came at me. I easily discredited your ridiculous reply, and once again you proved your ineptitude to prove a point. You just say, you don't know, and neither do I. Well of course we don't know. But my opinion is that he lacks the true grit and determination to be a 1st round worthy player. -

Just because fan's are critical of certain players, doesn't mean that they are less loyal of a fan. Or for that matter wrong. I made a sarcastic response to someone saying McCargo will go to another team and become an all pro, because we don't give players the opportunity to make plays. Well we drafted John in the first round, there's an opportunity. He had to beat out Tim Anderson and Kyle Williams to get in the lineup, there's an opportunity. We brought in other DT's to make him better ie; Larry Tripplet, there's an opportunity. It's time to be critical folks. This guy has had opportunity out of the a$$, and has failed each time. Now we are going to say its because of the relationship with his line coach. Or because of a mysterious back injury that materialized when we tried to trade him. Is McCargo the "not great, treated like a bum" players you speak of? HE HASN'T CONTRIBUTED AT ALL, it's hardly because he just didn't end up being great. -

O.K. coach, if I'm such a bandwagon fan, who critiques players based on what others say, why don't you enlighten us with what you see in McCargo? He has had ample opportunity to showcase his talent when healthy. Did you like what you saw Newt? The rest of the football world laughed at us for trading up in the first round, to get 2nd round projected talent. What did you see Mr. Lombardi? We gaffed drafting him, he has been a major disappointment, we have "egg on our face" because of this pic. But somehow because of your football prowess you are able to evaluate players at a self proclaimed higher level? If you disagree with most fan's lackluster feelings towards McCargo, then your the sheep. I will be your Shepard. What a bogus attempt at trying to make yourself seem like a football scholar. Your soft witted attempt at making yourself sound bright, failed. -

Yes, the adjustments needed for a player with a nagging back injury were never made. Furthermore, we just never let McCargo play to his strengths. What are they again? -
I disagree. We already have speed DT's, and it was pretty obvious we needed more "beef". We need an anchor, and he would fit the Bill (great pun).

Are you saying our pre Owens receivers and TE's did get open?

Immense pressure on edwARD
Buffalonian-at-Heart replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not as scared as he would have been having to find an open guy in 3.5 seconds, with our pre Owens receiving core. He knows defenses would t off on him. I think we turned Losman into the "happy footed" QB he is, because guys couldn't get open and he had the ability to get the hell out of the pocket. Then that just became a learned behavior. Because Edwards can't get out, he would have just gotten killed. He is a happy boy right now. -

PRESS CONFERENCE???

The entire 6.5 is guaranteed, the 4 million is the signing bonus. -
For me, it does make sense. I think there is a statement being made by the season ticket holding fans. They are not renewing in huge numbers. The Bills are in serious risk. A recession and an uninspired fan base, is a bad recipe for selling your product. On another front. This team has very little chance of being better than last year. They signed three irrelevant free agents, missed on all the ones that would have been, and there aren't any left. Relying on rookies to fill holes in their first year is a ridiculous expectation. This team is on it's way to 5-6 wins. Then enter T.O., he could actually make a tangible and intangible difference; immediately.

Don't be. You must be forgetting how painful the road was to find a running back. -

Buffalonian-at-Heart replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly think they may try to move Lynch. That's my hunch. Why else would they be bringing in guys that would be the second back in a 2 back system? These guys are not viable 3rd RB options we're bringing in. -

I could understand you saying "I like Jackson better", but not that he "is better". I think you meant the former. -
Lynch pleads guilty to Firearms Possession
Buffalonian-at-Heart replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Saying Jackson is better is a big stretch of the imagination. Clearly Lynch has the much bigger upside, based on his skill sets. But c'mon, let's not get carried away with calling a very good backup, better than a guy with the potential to be a star in the league. If he isn't already. -
The gamble is sending Edwards back out there for with the same core of below average talent. That's the thing, we didn't overpay for a LB, DE, TE, or OG. I could understand you saying don't over pay for a DE and then for a WR. But we did neither. We once again brought no impact players to this team. I would prefer a gamble or two.
-
Now Edwards will struggle and we will be left wondering if he is the guy or not. The front office just will not help this guy develop. We blew it. How can any of you say that you wouldn't take Coles at $7 mil? When a team is $30 million under the cap they can overpay a receiver for what it would mean to the rest of the teams progress. You guys would actually not want to sign a guy for a fraction more of our salary cap room, to fix a major issue? Wow. Hard for me to understand the logic in that. No TE, No Receiver. Total BS. What the hell is $1-1.5 mil more a year going to hurt? Stop us from signing a washed up linebacker?
