  1. I haven't laughed at a post that hard in a while. That was hilarious.
  2. I think you and I are closer to agreeing than you might think. Not that I believe we are arguing in anyway. But check this out. Christians are still human beings, that are flawed. Just because they found God doesn't instantly make them great orator's (I'm not suggesting you are insinuating that). But I completely know what you mean and have rolled my eyes at my fellow Christians before on their approach. And I'd admit some people would get turned off by my approach and yet my approach might be perfect for someone else, although my intentions are genuine in both instances. In the end God has to be the focus and hopefully you can look beyond human beings imperfections to find him. Furthermore, there's nothing more effective to get your point across then how you live your life, and to be an example. I tithe right? But yet I don't agree with all the financial decisions my church makes. But God wants me to tithe as an act of obedience. I've had people in my church say they aren't tithing anymore because of a couple of ding bat mistakes the people in charge of the money made. But my obligation is to God, not them. I give to God, and if God puts those people in a position to have control over the money and they do the wrong thing, that's on them. But no one is going to get me to go against God. See what I mean? Now if it gets that bad, I obviously have a decision to make about possibly switching churches. But some people will use things like this to get out of doing what God wants and blame people. When its them. I would encourage you to look beyond people and a perfect God is waiting to introduce himself to you. I agree that the conversation has taken a turn, but this is what I mean by the effect this book is going to have. It's going to get people talking. Never anything wrong with that, whether we agree or disagree.
  3. Here's another perspective. I guess Troup must have looked pretty good. Looks like Matt Warren had the same opinion about Maybin as BGIOP, not a lot of positives. That's not good. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/8/3/1...ning-camp-recap
  4. Wow, this book is going to a lot of good for a lot of people. I used to go to Kingdom Bound every year starting with the first. Matter of fact my family was part of the original crew that ran the first one and beyond. Did you ever go? Back in the 80's there was nothing like listening to Mylon Lefevre, Petra, and Carmen at Darien Lake. Some of the best memories I've ever had.
  5. No not the screening calls part dumb dumb. Although on that part you did change the subject of which was one of your criticisms of me (hypocrite). I wouldn't define myself as insecure, just merely aware of how many angry little office people there are out there, hmm, sound familiar? From time to time I'll admit as a father of two young boys, the natural insecurity of making sure I'm doing things right does pop up. But if you're little hitler attitude at work makes you feel good, have at it. You'll never know what it's like to get away from your little cushy desk job and enter the real world. It's not hard to figure out how you would do, based on your futile comments. Good one on the '' what is a Bill" thing. Although you did have to go pretty far back to get that one (December 2008). I honestly didn't know. I need not go back that far to find a doltish comment made by you.
  6. I don't think I'm holier than thou, but I am smarter than you. My kids won't see me saying I want to decide who lives and dies in a joking manner or otherwise. To you that makes me uptight, to me it's being an example. So we'll agree to disagree. This whole thing started with you attacking me don't forget, in my book its obvious who the hypocrite is, you. I'll predict your reply. "When I mock you don't come back at me, I have over 17,000 posts."
  7. Adults don't find that funny, it's a lack of maturity that makes you not understand that. My point is that's your statement under your avatar and you want to be taken seriously as a professional? You treat salesman badly and your answer is "have tougher skin"? Another sign of immaturity. How about treat people with respect.
  8. Clearly your the smartest person in the world. You don't need God, you don't need salesman to tell you about what might help your company, you don't need customers to listen to the salesman in your company, you're well versed in sales strategy (move on to the next prospect), you know everything about football. You're amazing. You're the first self sufficient human being. Under your avatar says "You want to decide who lives and who dies", wow. You've got serious issues.
  9. Yes, but you're doing your company a disservice by not making sure you're doing business with the best vendors. Does your company produce a product or have a service? How would you like it if your sales people were treated that way? Salesman are like truckers, they get no respect. They deliver the goods and services people need but get treated harshly. You like buying your shoes, but you don't want that truck getting in front of you. Did you ever think about the guts it takes for a person to ask you if they can talk to you about their product? Show an ounce of respect and maturity, you should be replaced at your job for letting emotions control your professionalism.
  10. That's a good question. I guess it's kind of like when you believe in something so strongly you just want someone else to believe you so you are persistent. It's also our duty to tell others. I don't think we should be aggravating people though, so there is a balance there. In our minds it's a life of death thing so it's hard to know when to stop telling someone about God, when you feel it's something so important for them to hear. Do you know what I mean? I'm sorry if you get offended by Christians. I'm in sales and it's a difficult thing to know when to stop calling on a potential customer. I believe strongly in my company and believe we can do the best job for them. So I'll try to reach them all the way to the point where they get offended. I don't want them to get that way, but sometimes it happens. But I have to try.
  11. I'd run on a team that can't score too. Our lack of offense is a big reason for teams running the ball on us, as much as our porous defense.
  12. Well it's really not such a crazy thought to be so certain about God. You can't prove spiritual things. It's kind of like me asking you to prove you love someone. You can't prove love, you can say well I do things that show I love someone, but I can debate you all day, because you can't prove you love someone. I can't prove that God loves me, but I can tell you that I've had real spiritual experiences that no one can take from me. Most people haven't been to Africa, but they believe there are lions there. Why? It's because someone else has seen them there and told you they are there and they show you pictures, etc. But when a Christian tells someone they found God, it's so incredible that they must be nuts. Why? There are millions of us telling you he's real.
  13. I know it's tough to go through something like that and then have anyone expect you to believe in God, but it's through these types of events that make him even more legitimate. And I don't mean just leaning on him as a crutch, I mean it actually makes common sense to believe in God through a tragedy and that the tragedy had to happen in order for God to exist. Man I would love to talk to you about this, would you be open to doing that maybe via email? I will also tell you this. The theory that everything good comes from God and everything bad comes from the Devil is false. Good and bad both are allowed by God. He allows everything within the framework of our free will. The Devil is used as a pawn by God and an example of what not to be, but the Devil has no bearing on what happens. In short we were created in God's image, which was perfect and without flaw. He loved us so much that he began to get jealous for our affection because he knew the only reason we loved him back was because there wasn't an option not to. That's when the most powerfull thing in the world was created, CHOICE. He's spent every minute since trying to get us to love him back and we have done some crazy things with our choices, but he had to allow it to happen. If he never created the option not to love him, he would never know we did.
  14. I understand your point but I have to disagree. The Bible is full of testimonies of what Mankind went and is going through. Giving your personal testimony is not only a part of your personal process (James 5:16), but if it can help just one person it should be shared.
  15. Not sure what you mean by "exactly"?
  16. Just because the Schobel situation is linked to Maybin doesn't mean the decisions on Schobel are or have to be.
  17. I suspect the Schobel situation has very little to do with Maybin.
  18. I don't get it, he's not catholic.
  19. I disagree. Some teams get lucky and get their franchise QB and the others are still trying.
  20. I completely (disagree with this assessment, I think Lee Evans has shown he's a more than adequate #2 NFL receiver. The problem with this team is we don't have a #1 receiver. I feel we may have some options currently on our team that will solve that problem. Furthermore if one of these receivers don't emerge and help move the chains, you can forget about worrying about 3 running backs getting enough touches. I'm going to open my parenthesis early, and I'm going to leave them open for a loooonnnng time.)
  21. He's never been devastating at anything in his entire career, I don't see how that would change, especially at 33.
  22. You didn't see the other thread you started?
