Is the pain of watching Trent checkdown behind center still so raw we're responding seriously to a sarcastic post. It is still too soon to make jokes about Trent Edwards? I was just getting out my Joe Dufek / Matt Cofer jokes then....

So should the Bills try to win 6 games, or Suck for Luck.....

Exactly. This is all Buddy's grand plan to "Suck for Luck".

So we just drafted 3 DB's and not a single player

Not only that, I seem to remember California guy Brady winning practically every snow game he's ever played, and quite a few of them by a large margin. Anyone check out that NE-Tennessee game last season? -
Is there a worse TV Analyst than ...

Diction! Are you kidding? Never mind Solomon, the best is when the halftime guys hand a clip off to Shannon Sharpe and we get to hear HIM try to speak. -
I even remember entire games where Kelly was just terrible, like this one I drove up to go to back in the day, but the same with Brett Favre. You still couldn't argue with the fact that more often than not he was great, and just took teams apart in the SB years. If the Bills can get a QB like that they have to take him. As much as I admire Fitz'z heart so far, I haven't seen this type of game from Fitz yet.

Why can't Fitz be the face of the franchise?

Because he kinda reminds me of Zack Galifianakis. Beat me to it. -
Really. Johnson drops a TD, Leodis gets called back on Corto's hold, and the normally reliable Lindell goes (dare I say it) wide right. 3 plays and this game is over 31-13, so I'm not gonna crap all over Chan. I would imagine if I'm Chan, I tell the guys to enjoy this one for 24 hours and on Tues morning I start beating the snot out of them for those 3 little things that make Buffalo a competitive but losing team. Hell, I'll even smile a little as a fan but I won't let anyone here in NYC catch me because I'll be open to "His Bills are 1-8, the Sabres are in last place, and he's happy."

Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
TDO'Kearney replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A fair point. Since apparently the League will allow the fact that a kicker must hit a 2 FG conversion (2 FG in a row) to get a game tying/winning 3 points in OT, are we having this conversation as loudly if Lindell doesn't bonk the upright in KC on his 2nd FG of last weeks 2 FG conversion attempt? The guy has a good passer rating against the better defenses in the NFL. I'm still not willing to dismiss the idea he can't be THE GUY out of hand until this season is over. -
Pat Kirwan Thinks Bills win 4-5 Games This Season
TDO'Kearney replied to HarkinBanks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even that isn't true. I remember the Kelly years when the team would be 9-1 and might have a game where Kelly throws 2 picks and they play from behind but pull it out in the end, as they could do in those days. I remember people complaining that Kelly needs to sit, the Bills are starting to fall apart, evidence of a lack of cohesion on the team, wahhh wahh wahhh..... -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
TDO'Kearney replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Speaking of Roscoe, if we get good QB play and a line that can hold up like today, why can't Roscoe be a Wes Welker type receiver? You have Evans and Johnson for the long balls, and you would think Roscoe is quick enough to get separation on short routes. -
Fitz #2 Rated Passer in The NFL
TDO'Kearney replied to Silvercrw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard Phil Simms say that a QB's accuracy gets better the longer he plays. His feeling was the longer you play the more you work on mechanics and footwork, and the better you get at putting the ball where you want it. I hope that's the case, and that by the end of the year we're just looking for an LT (Cordero Howard!) and some linebackers / def line help for Kyle Williams. -
I want someone who is emotionally tough, who can take a beating and keep on fighting. I think in the pre draft interviews we should sucker punch each QB candidate and any one who says "what did you do that for?" we eliminate and bump any guy who comes up swinging and mad as hell to the top of the list. I am tired of guys who are "students of the game" and who think they can be an all pro by spending more time watching films. I want a guy who doesn't care what defense you are running, doesn't care who is covering who and doesn't give a damn how many guys are blitzing, a guy who believes in his gut he is going to beat you no matter what you are doing. It aint all X's and O's. I know you stated you wanted a guy who can feel the rush in your second paragraph, but this last one could describe JP Losman.

Preseason game 1- Bills @ Redskins "Gameday" thread
TDO'Kearney replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is there something in the water up there? Waht in the name of jauron ball was that? You can only scare the defense into an offside when you've been doing something on offense and the d line is chomping at the bit to get out of their stance and stop you. These guys were probably discussing where to go to dinner later, they weren't gonna jump. -
Which Failed QB Would Have Been Most Successful
TDO'Kearney replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Compare that to the supporting cast Losman had in the second half of 2006. He had Jason Peters at LT; and overall was the recipient of much better pass protection than Johnson had while in Buffalo. He had Willis McGahee at RB who, while flawed, was a better player than Antowain Smith. At receiver he had Lee Evans, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, and others. While that was not the equivalent of the receiving corps Johnson had, there was still some talent there (especially Evans). Admittedly he didn't have a Jay Riemersma at TE. But overall, he was nonetheless surrounded by an overall better supporting cast than the one Johnson had. While we're going on about RJ, in the one playoff game for the Bills those QBs had, RJ arguably played better than the much-heralded Steve McNair http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxs...00001080oti.htm, and came off the field having lead the Bills to the go ahead FG late in the 4Q while playing without a shoe at one point. -
Yea, really. I mean, if she threw herself at me in a bar, boy, I'd just walk away..... ugly tramp...

Yea, and more of the same to see our defense get gashed up the middle by a huge running play.... -
After three rounds, here are some questions/thoughts
TDO'Kearney replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone think the Bills will take LeFevour, Pike, or Skelton tomorrow to add another QB to the mix? We still need OL, WR, and OLB in addition to QB. Or does Chan think he can get Trent to play like Dilfer and be good enough. At least we can't complain about the DL support from this draft.... -
Last time Ralph W was seen..?
TDO'Kearney replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe his point is, Mr. Wilson's travel habits MAY reflect his ability to travel, and thus give us an indication of his current health. I know all of this would be speculation on our part, but it is a fair question. Is Mr Wilson hale and hearty and as healthy as a nonagenarian should be? I think we all realize there will be significant changes in the organization, including the possibility of relocation, if Mr Wilson is ailing and might die soon.
