  1. For now I like this move. We can't pin the past bad drafts on him since he only came on in Feb 2009 (that's only 2 months before the draft). The fact that he has openly criticized the free agents signings here says something good. Remember we don't know who actually had the final say on the draft picks last year. Maybin sounds like a Jauron/Fewell request (fast and small). Also think about it. The guy is 70 and most likely won't hang around for the next owner or group. Makes sense to me. So, let's raise a glass to the Bills this New Year's eve as I raise one to all of you faithful Bills fans. Let's get this thing on track!

  2. Today wasn't all that bad ,Yea the game it self was bad and boring but there was nothing else to do and the weather is cold. So why not sit back and relax in your nice warm living room and watch some football. Nothing will ruin my day today because my daughter has just informed me that Iam going to be a grandfather for the first time. ;)

Congrats! One good thing happened today, at least. Oh yeah, it's the 4th Sunday of Advent. There are bigger things than football.

  3. The one thing missing from Parcells' list is - won at every level he played. There are lots of college QBs that have size, arm, and smarts, but the great ones refuse to lose (Kelly, Marino, Staubach, Stabler, Elway, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady). I say the personnel rep should challenge the guy to a game of ping pong and see how he treats it. If he absolutely must win, that's your guy.

Also, we do need a cold weather QB. Sure, we don't get snow but maybe once or twice, but it gets really cold in November and the winds make it worse. Kelly was perfect and I think Marino would have been good too.

  4. Yeah baby, Go Noles! If Miami wanted a bowl game, they should have won more. Bowls are about TV, not marginally better records.

No. 1 thing in a QB should be "is he a winner?" Look at the greats. They all won at every level and refused to accept losing. The one notable exception was Archie Manning. He deserved a better fate.

  5. Marv Levy is a class act and was a pretty good football coach. One can question his choice of a head coach and his talent evaluation, but he has earned all of our respect and deserves to be thanked for trying to fix this team. He took a chance. It didn't work. Move on and have a little self respect.

  6. I don't know why anyone thought we had much of a chance with practice squad players in key positions. This is another 2007. It's too bad. They were looking ok until Poz went down. Now teams just have to shoot the middle of the defense, especially now that Whitner is out too. It's rotten luck and shows how cheap we've been in getting depth.

  7. Finally got to see them play on a Sunday here in S Florida. Almost went to the game. Glad I didn't. What did I learn? The Dolphins can beat up on our second stringers. 2007 all over again.. I also thought Trent was going to be good, but I think Bill Walsh was wrong about him. We keep getting these guys who never really won in college and never played in the snow. How smart is that? I'll watch the scoreboard from now on, but I have more important things to do than watch preseason games until December.

  8. The few positives I took from this game:

    1. The screen pass was an amazing thing to see in a Bills uniform! We need more of that.

    2. The effect of TO opening the middle of the field for Freddy J.

    3. Freddy J

    4. AVP had some solid play calling, although many were saying the same thing about Schonert

    5. Run D looked solid for the most part

    My big peeves:

    1. Detrimental Bell and his penalties - killed some drives

    2. Obviously McKelvin's return

    3. Clock management during last possession

    4. Can we please cover the comeback?

and a long wait for Poz to come back from injury... Teams will attack the middle now.
