  1. OK, a post on the topic.. I would only give up on the Bills if they moved. I'm not going to root for a crappy team in someone else's city. It would suck, but I'd move on to another team near where I live, I guess. No way I'd jump over to the Jets or Giants since they play in NJ. It's always disappointing when you see the crap going on with this team. I'm starting to think that RW, like every blind dog, found a bone in Polian and that's gonna be it for us.
  2. You mean a guy like Dick Jauron, then? He had plenty of HC experience. I don't that matters at all.
  3. My goodness, how many of you would spend millions of dollars based on what about football fans say? I've been involved in hiring people and sometimes you offer the job and they say "I need to think about it for a couple of weeks." If you really want them and no one is competing with you (at least no NFL teams) then you say, "sure thing, but we can't drag this out too long." Season's not even over yet. Let Nix do his job. If he hired quickly, you'd gripe about that too.
  4. Forget about Cowher. His teams couldn't beat the Bills when it counted. Find someone good.
  5. Keep the throwback unis. Classic football uniforms. BTW there is no connection between performance and apparel.
  6. Well, for one thing, they had to let the staff go because that is common practice when bringing in a new HC. Actually this would be more attractive, since the new guy doesn't have to accept some coordinators already here. Anyone but Cowher would jump at this job. You can only look good after the mess that was created. No one wants to follow a legend, really. Anyway, forget Cowher. Remember how we used to beat his teams pretty regularly in the 90s? I never thought he was the coach of the century. Also, I don't like giving a coach control over personnel. Hasn't really worked in too many places has it? Let the talent evaluators get the players and let the coaches teach and work the Xs and Os as it should be.
  7. Dude, no one in FL has basements.
  8. I still don't understand the fascination with Brohm. Exactly how many practice squad QBs have ended up having all-pro careers? If he had that much promise the coaches would have found a way to get him in. This is valuable snow-game experience for Fitz and quite the confidence builder. You need that in a backup.
  9. Exactly, we haven't a Bills first string on the field for half the season. The Colts actually have the advantage in that their guys have been on the 53-man roster for most of the year.
  10. DrFishFinder, I'm in Jupiter and its expected to get down to 33 tonight!
  11. Not a chance. Just have fun watching football in the snow. We'll see who (Jackson) is capable of it and move on from there. Nix will get us another qb, and Fitz will back up. Who cares about Brohm? Where has he won? Draft well and see what you can get in FA and hope for improvement, but just have fun today.
  12. anybody got a stream that is working?
  13. Eesh, this got ugly. Christians are called to evangelize. You just don't have to listen if you don't want to.
  14. Absolutely right. I just hope they never build a dome in Buffalo. I hate watching games in domes.
  15. For now I like this move. We can't pin the past bad drafts on him since he only came on in Feb 2009 (that's only 2 months before the draft). The fact that he has openly criticized the free agents signings here says something good. Remember we don't know who actually had the final say on the draft picks last year. Maybin sounds like a Jauron/Fewell request (fast and small). Also think about it. The guy is 70 and most likely won't hang around for the next owner or group. Makes sense to me. So, let's raise a glass to the Bills this New Year's eve as I raise one to all of you faithful Bills fans. Let's get this thing on track!
  16. I'm usually a pretty positive guy, but this administration has burnt me too often. The QB crop is not that good this year, so unless a LT or ILB is worth the no. 5, we should trade it for more high-round picks to stock up on lineman (both sides of the ball).
  17. We won't be able to sign no. 5. Trade it.
  18. Why do you keep doing this to yourself? We'll pick the 9th best punter or something with a top ten pick. I won't even get interested until I know real football people are doing the picking...
  19. If he were still here, we would still be in last place. Who the f*** cares about Peters?
  20. Congrats! One good thing happened today, at least. Oh yeah, it's the 4th Sunday of Advent. There are bigger things than football.
  21. The one thing missing from Parcells' list is - won at every level he played. There are lots of college QBs that have size, arm, and smarts, but the great ones refuse to lose (Kelly, Marino, Staubach, Stabler, Elway, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady). I say the personnel rep should challenge the guy to a game of ping pong and see how he treats it. If he absolutely must win, that's your guy. Also, we do need a cold weather QB. Sure, we don't get snow but maybe once or twice, but it gets really cold in November and the winds make it worse. Kelly was perfect and I think Marino would have been good too.
  22. Yeah baby, Go Noles! If Miami wanted a bowl game, they should have won more. Bowls are about TV, not marginally better records. No. 1 thing in a QB should be "is he a winner?" Look at the greats. They all won at every level and refused to accept losing. The one notable exception was Archie Manning. He deserved a better fate.
