  1. It doesn't get worse than this, fellas.
  2. I put off some work to watch this -- they'll show Fins road games here -- but these guys are wasting my time now. Will keep an eye on the score. What a shame.. I hoped that it would at least be better than last year, but this is a huge step backward. In fact they seem to be very good at going backwards..
  3. Not ready to blame Gailey yet. Switching to a 3-4 this year was a mistake. Should have waited. Guards are OK, but Center and OTs are getting blown up or run around. Do our RBs block?
  4. LOL, I don't think he can find bigger D-lineman, tackles who can block, and a confident QB in that time!
  5. Ugh, this is going to be another long season.
  6. The all-blue uniforms look like a Division III college. The color is something a fashion person came up with and should be discarded immediately. The darker color worked for some teams but not the Bills. Bring back the 60s uniforms. They are classics, like the Packers, Cardinals, Vikings, and Cowboys uniforms. The Seahawks, Jaguars, and Panthers are the worst. Abstract logos suck.
  7. But the Saints wear black. Didn't affect them. I agree, though, that these uniforms bite. I've always felt that way. Bring on those throwback uniforms, which look like football uniforms.
  8. This one just spins right now.
  9. Spiller was definitely Chan's request. I doubt Nix would have picked him otherwise.
  10. I think you mean "alluded". Changes the meaning pretty dramatically!
  11. He was crazy. Every player of the instrument hates the "french" part. College students and professionals simply call it the "horn".
  12. As an Irish-American (and a Hibernian) I'm cool with it. Until African Americans were allowed to fight whites, the Irish were among the very best boxers. Take a look at the logo. Also the Irish have been prized warriors throughout history. We pushed the British back onto their island from right next door.
  13. Seminole grad here. Our mascot is anything but goofy. His outfit is vetted by the Seminole tribe and he rides in on a fine horse and plants a burning spear in the center of the field. The university is fully supported by the Seminole tribe and there is a good scholarship program in place for them to attend. Go Noles! Dude, the chant is awesome.
  14. Born in Herkimer in 1962 Lived in Kenmore for a couple of years, moved to Port Allegheny, PA and then to North Tonawanda until 1969 Moved to KY, then TN and MO, but now living in South Florida taunting Fish fans
  15. Stats are nice, but my question is "Did the guy play well and mostly beat the best competition in the college game?" Peyton Manning - yes Jim Kelly - yes Dan Marino - yes Joe Namath - yes Joe Montana - yes Some teams take a baseball philosophy and think that they can take a good athlete and make him into a good football player. There just isn't time at the NFL level. If you draft guys who played great against the best competition, hire good coaches, and get a little bit lucky, you will win in the NFL. I will admit that you have to take into account a college team's system. NFL teams rely more on the quarterback than say Florida or Texas in recent years. W-L record is not quite as important in those cases.
  16. and Trent's SB appearances, err.. playoff appearances ... well, he should just shut up and throw a ball more than 20 feet. Kelly learned the game in PA where the elements can mess with finesse. We need another guy who can do that.
  17. Nix has said all along that he intends to build through the draft. Trading high picks for a guy who can't play tackle for the Ravens does not fit that plan. Now if the Raiders want to give us a 3rd for Lynch, take it! It will be -- and always will be -- a high one.
  18. A dome is still a dumb idea. Why give up something that makes visiting teams dread coming here? Do you think the Fish are going to build a stadium and over-AC it to accommodate us? If you can't stand the cold snowy games, stay home. The rest of us will keep home field advantage intact. Now, if we could just get a few good cold-weather players like we used to have.
  19. Nope. I prefer the championship 60s uniforms that they occasionally use now. The standing buffalo rules!
  20. I agree. It was much better to have all this done by New Year's Day. A college football playoff is virtually impossible since these guys are actually college students -- at least we have to assume this or the colleges will be obligated to pay them a salary. There's not enough time between the end of the season and the start of Spring semester to have a FAIR playoff. You'll end up teams getting chosen for the playoffs and others moaning about not being selected. The bowls used to be so much more meaningful and fun.
  21. HC's are only as good as their players. How GREAT was Belichek before he got to NE? Look at Lombardi's late career and the total nosedive of Jimmy Johnson. The good coaches put great players in the right positions and know enough to stay out of the way.
  22. I'm not in a position to grade the work of people who know college football players better than I do. Let's just hope we got some good talent that will become solid contributors in a couple of years.
  23. I keep hearing all this talk about trading down, but doesn't another team have to agree to the trade? You know I would have liked to have seen fewer players from 2nd division teams selected, but there's just no way that a guy with Nix's experience avoids the marquis names just to piss off Mel Kiper. Let's see what happens. There was a time when no one cared who teams chose after the first round.
