  1. The Kelsay extension eroded my faith a bit. Green was probably the only experienced tackle on the market that was willing to come to Buffalo at the time.
  2. By the way, the Spiller pick was anything but a surprise. Gailey kept talking about drafting a small "water bug" type. That's exactly what they did. I think he will pay off, but he needs Thurman to give him a blocking clinic at some point.
  3. This was a good move. He could have been a good running back, but he tries to go sideways far too often and ends up losing yards. You can't say we could have gotten a better deal when everyone knew we were trying to move him. Would you rather keep him or have a 4th and ?th? I'd rather have the picks. There are good players in the 4th round and certain positions have value there. This was a good move. Could it have been better? Maybe, but no one was that desperate for an ex-con decent RB.
  4. Enjoying it here in S Florida!
  5. The problem always is value in the draft. Drafting a lineman with the no 1 or 2 pick is a huge reach most of the time. Better to trade that pick for a lower 1st and another 2nd. I agree though. None of the QB's coming out is worth betting farm with a crappy line. I think our guards will be OK, but w/o good tackles, they can't show us what they can do yet. OL is a team game. We also need a legit run-stuffing NT and about 3 new linebackers. We probably also need a real SS, sad to say. Build this like you build a house, with a good foundation. OTOH one doesn't get the 1st pick very often. If there is a huge playmaker out there (WR, DE, QB, LB). Go ahead. It just better be worth it.
  6. It will be tougher for him next week, now that there is 2010 film. Still, this beats the horror show of the last two weeks. Someone needs to remind Fitz that Jim Kelly threw a ton of picks that pissed us all off. You have to take chances sometimes. Jim thought he could throw throw triple coverage many times.
  7. Fitz is a good backup quarterback. They are backups because they are NFL caliber, but with some flaws. Hey, I was still watching this game in the 4th Quarter. I'll take it for now.
  8. Yup, this was NOT the year to change to 3-4, especially without a lot of F/A changes.
  9. Cut Green before the 4th Quarter
  10. Announcer was blaming Nelson. I don't think so...
  11. Everyone is overpursuing. No discipline
  12. The Pats may end up winning this thing, but they are not as tough as they used to be. I see the refs shaking off their unwillingness to make penalty calls too. We have no idea what the NFL asked them to do in the past, but I think we all saw it too clearly.
  13. CJ is fast!
  14. The Pats carry a punter? I don't recall ever seeing him.
  15. Nice D series
  16. Jeez, just take Green off the field and put in another receiver...
  17. After missing one, Byrd is getting all the tackles. That's not good.
  18. Doesn't matter. The Bills won't pick a player that can help them. It's not in their nature. I think back to the great team of the late 80s-early 90s and I recall the stroke of luck that someone traded for Greg Bell. That's not likely to happen again.
  19. Hmm.. that never seems to work for the Lions, though.
  20. I just can't let myself believe that Chan is another dead dick. That's just too depressing.
  21. Dude, timeouts get burned when players do stupid things to force you to. Like he said in the pre-game interview, he won't know how this team will react until they play in a real game. I will be just as critical if he does nothing about this. He HAS to know that losing the Dolphins at home on opening day is about the worst thing a new coach can do. Let's see what happens next. Bottom line is that he probably did everything he could with this mess.
  22. Sorry, you can't hang this on him. Lombardi couldn't win with this crap.
  23. Yeah, I don't blame Chan for having no confidence in Trent. I just hope he has seen the Edwards has no game confidence. Fewell saw it.
