  1. Assume its a perfect world and we had our pick: Peppers: 28yrs old 6'7 283lb DE with 12.5 sacks this season, 5 FF, and 44 tackles or Haynesworth: 27yrs old 6'6 320lb DT with 8.5 sacks, 3 FF, and 51 tackles Personally, I'd go with Peppers, since we've got Stroud in the middle, with a decent Williams next to him. Even if we do get Haynesworth, we still have to address the lack of a passrush from the outside. Carolina has average DT's and Tennessee have average DE's, but we have average DT's and below average DE's. If Peppers has proven anything in his career so far, its that you don't need to have an all pro DT in the middle for him to be successful. Cut Kelsay, pick up Peppers, and make sure Schobel is still alive, and I think our DLine is a strong one.
  2. I was just getting ready to post this. They said that offseason surgery is more likely than putting him on IR and doing it now, but never gave a reason as to why. My take is that its a torn groin, but not all the way through, so the healing process is much less than a full tear and they can afford to wait out the season.
  3. Yeah, well Brian Leonard sucks, too.
  4. Thats sad. One ProBowl selection again.
  5. Thats not really a good argument to why we shouldn't run Lynch more. I haven't seen anything that would convince me that if we had run the ball more this season, we wouldn't have had more success than we did.
  6. Either Trent and the passing offense needs to get a whole lot better, or we need to run more. It's as simple as that. Marshawn won't get 5yds/carry like AP, but he'll get his yards if you give him the carries. Two years in the league, two 1000yd+ seasons, career avg. of 4.1yds/carry, and 65 catches for about more 500yds is proof enough for me to leverage his talents a little more. Not to mention, 2 fumbles lost.
  7. When I look at Marshawn, he could have the same stats as Turner this year if he had the carries. Marshawn: 4.2/carry - 17 carries/game 7 TDs Turner: 4.3/carry - 23 carries/game 15 TDs As a team: Falcons: 35 attempts/game (2nd most in NFL) - 4.2yds/attempt Bills: 27 attempts/game (15th in NFL) - 4.2yds/attempt We need to run more. Think of the times when we were in the red zone and opted to pass and kick field goals instead of running Marshawn. The difference between the success the Falcons had and the lack of success that we've had was the number of carries that they give to their playmaker.
  8. It's because Ralph is 90 years old, and not in touch with reality anymore. He forces the organization to respond in this stupid manner pretty much every time.
  9. After hearing that he "wanted to go out and make a highlight tape", I knew it was over for him.
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3769872 He agreed to it when they were 5-2 and he signed it yesterday.
  11. Not any more: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3769872
  12. Not totally, but he was burnt all day today by numerous WR's and TE's, including on the TD in the first qtr.
  13. Wow! A run on 3rd & 1!!!
  14. It sucks, but I agree with him, especially with getting some of the younger players involved to see what weaknesses need to be addressed. Shouman & Fine, Corner & McKelvin, and Hardy & Johnson should be on the field for most of the remaining season. Playing a spoiler to the Pat's & Jets would also be cool, but I'd focus more on next year than anything else.
  15. Jenkins has been hurt this week, so it's possible that if we can get a run game going early, we'll have a chance. That's assuming that we don't give up on the run like we have all season. Hip - Limited practice. Questionable for Week 15 vs. Buffalo (Updated - 12/11/08) I still think that the Jets are the most likely team to implode going into the last few games with Favre at the helm. Plus, as bad as we've been this year, it's still a divisional game, so anything goes.
  16. Kramer: You know Darren, if you would have told me twenty-five years ago that some day I'd be standing here about to solve the world's energy problems, I would've said you're crazy... Now let's push this giant ball of oil out the window.
  17. Right. I think earlier on they said it was the ligament that held the big toe in place that wasn't healing. That's a pretty big problem from what I can gather. Especially when it comes to trying to guess when it will heal. I've got no problems with them not putting Aaron on IR because if he was able to come back, and if we had made the playoffs (as it looked like we could have when he was injured), he might have had a shot at playing. Now, it makes no difference so they might as well IR him and pick up a waiver for camp.
  18. LOL... I knew we were missing something this year. Ellison has been starting and Bowen is on IR. I just want to know who will start the first "Lets try Hall at Safety" thread.
  19. Exactly! He's been told by his editor to make as much noise as possible to sell papers and get hits on the website. Saying that "its a young team and they're going to make crucial mistakes" doesn't sell papers. Saying that Ralph needs to sell the team or fire Jauron does turn heads, so why not give it a shot? There won't be a paper in 6 months anyways.
  20. Oh man. That was a rough one to open at work. What a deceiving website name!
  21. Is that where you wear nothing but a lemon with a hole drilled in it? If so, then yes!
