  1. How about this song from the 50" doo wop "Lavender Blue" Lavender blue, dilly, dilly Lavender green If I were king, dilly, dilly I'd need a queen Who told me so, dilly, dilly Who told me so I told myself, dilly, dilly I told me so If your dilly, dilly heart Feels a dilly, dilly way And if you answer, yes In a pretty little church On a dilly, dilly day You'll be wed in a dilly, dilly dress Of lavender blue, dilly, dilly Lavender green Then I'll be king, dilly, dilly And you'll be my queen Great-grandfather met great grandmother When she was a shy young miss And great-grandfather won great-grandmother With words more or less like this Lavender blue, dilly, dilly Lavender green If you were king, dilly, dilly You need a queen Who told you so, dilly, dilly Who told…
  2. I saw him play and he looked like a harder runner than Earl Campbell. He was very fast as well. Defensive backs always went very low on him cause they couldn't bring him down with a hit above the waist.
  3. I think it was an intentional act to hurt him. He was tackled to the ground and then finished off with the usual - i'm going to unecessarily throw all of my weight on this prone player to see if i can cause some damage. But I guess that's how football is played nowadays as I see it happening all the time. To merely tackle is not enough.
  4. You may be right but to me its too clinical and calculating. Lets just play ball and let the better team win. Tired of these long range plans and tossing away good years of football. Maybe I don't need a superbowl but need good competitive games year in and year out.
  5. How about this scenario: the non-playoff teams would get to draft based on the best non playoff team drafting first with the second best team drafting second and so on. After all the non playoff teams have drafted then the normal order and rules would apply. This would provide the incentive to win for all teams as finishing last would have the least reward. More wins equal a better draft position.
  6. You're probably right and I agree with your sentiment but it hasn't stopped teams from trying any which way possible to draft higher in the draft where the supposed best players are. Whether it actually works is debatable as you can bring up the Tom Brady example. But, the best gamble is to try to draft higher for the projected better players and teams will do anything to get as high as possible to get a need player.
  7. No professional league should have any type of incentive for losing. The first handful of picks may have to be random or some other formula to discourage losing. Winning should always reap any rewards. Others have suggested different scenarios for running the draft. Need to stop this intentional losing - period.
  8. I miss Whaley, You know if he was still here he would be bringing in reinforcements. Maybe he couldn't field a winning combination but you knew he would keep trying.to address our needs. Now its crickets. Maybe they are tanking after all for that future QB. Lets not even try to help Tyrod who needs receivers. Bring back Whaley.
  9. I admit I don't know the IR rules but it would feel nice if Mcdermott would tell Dareus he's on IR for the rest of the year and to pack up his stuff and stay away from the team and facilities until next year. Bye bye and no more talk of him this season.......
  10. Good one. I guess you got me there. Mea culpa.
  11. It sounded more like she made a statement to me and look how smart I am to say such a thing. Had no trouble with Cam's reply and don't think she should be upset at all. I've played and watched football for over 50 years and wouldn't know how to make a sensible reply to that question. But the outrage fits right in with todays society. Just a tad thin skinned to me but hey we're all entitled to our own opinions.
  12. Looks like we're on pace to win the off season again.
