  1. very few running backs get hurt on two yard runs up the gut.
  2. we'd be picking 11th if we were in the CFL......
  3. Give the man his due.... he was a monster for several years behind a very good line. Behind a bad line no one can run or throw. Sounds like a familiar restrain?
  4. Guys, the argument "well, we don't suck as bad as someone else" is a lame argument. Our line, offense and coaching sucks plain and simple. Do not try to make our situation sound better than it is because someone may be worse. We are abysmal.
  5. Actually what the first guy said is true. Losing Peters has a very long term negative impact. The exact same thing can be said for Mike Williams not working out. I hate looking in the rear view mirror but had we kept Peters and if Williams played to potential (or if we had not been afraid to draft McKinnie because of his agent) we would have two premier bookend tackles. All we would have had to do was draft or buy a good center.....you can grow guards on a tree. This line could have / should have been set for for the last few years and in great shape for another 8 to ten years. But we never had football people making the decisions. It wasn't who was better it was who is easier to sign Mckinnie or Williams. It wasn't locking up your emerging tackle it was signing Dockery and Walker and ignoring the linch pin of the line. Hindsight is 20-20 but a lack of common sense and football smarts has plagued this team for years. We could offer to trade our entire O-line to Philliy for Peters right now but I bet Philly wouldn't take that trade.
  6. The fact is this offense sucks so bad we could have Rice and Taylor and we would be saying the same thing about them.
  7. The guy has made two good plays all year and if you count the last ten games of last year that number is still two. That's eighteen games and he matches the performance of a fourth or fifth round rookie and you guys are all crying poor Lee?!?! Gimme a break. 2005 to 2007 he was great with JP, TE and Holcomb all worthless QB's; all with bad offensive lines and all with poor game plans. But he made plays. What's changed? We still have worthless QBs, and a bad offensive line and poor offensive game plans. The fact is he signed a big fat contract and stopped playing. I am not making up his stats go look at them, they stink especially for the money he is now making. Give me Justin Jenkins at least he tries.
  8. I always liked the guy until last year. But look at his stats. Nothing from about the 4th or 5th game in 2008, everyone said it was because he had no one on the other side to take pressure off the double teams. Now he has someone on the other side and still nothing much. So now the convenient excuse it TE, OL, DJ, AVP, Turk. Everyone is to blame but Lee? I just don't think so.
  9. Lee is way overrated. Laid down as soon as he signed the big fat deal. IMO
  10. I predicted they would suck. Do I win?
  11. Can't we all just get along? Nah, what fun would that be. OJ needs to pulled from the wall and the hall and I hope he dies while still in jail real soon. he's a low life scum. I can't stand the media for even mentioning his name because attention is all he craves and they give it to him. Every wife/girlfriend beater and steroid user in the nfl and there are plenty of both should also rot right next to OJ. Bunch of overgrown, overpaid babies.
  12. Tell George and the rest of the back-up DBs to get on the juice, they will start at LB in a few weeks.
  13. at least they throw near him. he should be on this team, his new quote "they just don't throw to the wide receivers ever!"
  14. I'd take Cable form Oakland before Mangini and Cable is a joke.
  15. we really don't have a choice in the matter do we? 5 -11 and we will call it a successful season.
  16. Flutie wins that game going away. It would not have come down to a kick return. Our D that year was better than I thought.
  17. One question to ask: Would our offensive production be any different if Steve Johnson, James Hardy and Justin Jenkins all started ahead of TO, Lee Evans, Josh Reed and / or Roscoe Parrish? The answer is there would be no difference in offensive production. Might just as well cut or trade the four starters, bring in a couple of lower cost vets, stock up on some draft picks. Our starters are not difference makers and none of them would start for the better passing teams in the NFL, including Lee -- I got mine, I don't have to produce now -- Evans.
  18. It is very deceiving to call two has beens -- Evans and Owens -- great receivers anymore. Lee is as done as TO. imo.
  19. There were two raps on Gruden. One was ego. The other was that his offense was too complicated for team /qbs to pick up in the first two years. That is why he struggled manning the qb position. I am all for a complicated offense especially after watch Jauron's sandlot plays and philosophy. His intensity would be welcomed as well.
  20. Really? What game were you watching? I saw a lot of high motor guys giving great effort. But then I was drinking heavily shortly after kickoff
  21. I remember some of those home games when we regained respectability. They were awesome.
  22. bringing in holmgren is like bringing in chuck knox 25 years ago. ralph has done this and hopefully will do it once more.
  23. Yes, Johnson will have a field day. Young will not have to throw. I just Googled the record. Byrd tied the record for consecutive games with two or more INTs. He shares it with a guy that picked off 9 in three games in the 70's.
