Truly our D line is below average, not above average. These guys gave up 170 yards per game on the ground. The Dback-field is average, maybe slightly above average; its numbers are skewed by the fact that teams steamrolled us on the ground. Its ability for INTs is above average. Even with Mitchell back all the LBs are weak. To be a top 5 Def you need two big, relatively fast DTs in the middle. That is where you stop the run and get the push up the middle on pass rush. We have none of those. We are at least 2 DTs and 2 LBs away from a top 5 Def and of course a good head coach and a good DC.

I have always thought of Norv Turner and Wade Phillips as sad sacks. I just hate watching them lose as they seem to suffer on the sidelines. Dick J was not much different. All decent guys, all very capable OCs or DCs but not really head coaching material. You want your coach to be the leader before, during and after the game is over, win or lose, and be a presence. They have no presence. The few good coaches we have had ... Marv, Chuck Knox, & Lou Saban all had some charisma.

Why try to pick up a guy whose ambition is to be a back-up? There will be a lot of second rate qbs available. There always are and one or two usually make it. I'd rather have Mark Bulger. He will be dropped before too long. And he needs a fresh start. I still say Mike Vick is the guy to get.

I am with ya. I hate Jerry and can't stand that wimp Romo. It is 17 -3 right now and I hope they continue to stomp Romo into the turf, they lose, then Jerry starts to cry and he fires Wade. I like Wade and he can do better than work for that pompous a$$.

Have you ever owned a company or been in a position of responsibility at a company? Would you always hire the first person that applies for a job? It takes 3 years to learn most positions in the NFL especially the O line. Many first year standouts have a slump in year 2. If a player has the athleticism and a brain by year three it starts to click.

A board of directors, elected by the stockholders, manages the team. Imagine how nice it would be if we had a sharp intelligent Board of Directors at the wheel instead of senile old Ralph fumbling his way along. Yes, it will be as well run as the City of Buffalo where sharp intelligent leaders managed the city into 50 years of decline.

If we had taken care of peters when we overpaid for dockery and walker he would still be here. instead a shortsighted FO tried to underpay the most solid guy on their line. Vision is needed in the FO.

For you Mike Martz fans..... Bobby April is a guy that Martz almost ruined.

He sure makes a lot of plays at or behind the line of scrimmage.

So you think he probably took the bullet in the back with the intention of hitting Marvin up for money later....there are easier ways to con someone out of money.

Lee has average 50 catches per year for the last 3 years. In 2009, with TO taking the double team off of him, Lee had 44 catches for 600 yards. Those are stats for a rookie. When was the last time he showed any aggressiveness on the field? There are 10 to 15 teams he would not start for. He is a number 3 n any good team. Remember everyone had to be careful not to call him the number 2 when TO signed so he would not get upset. He has showed nothing for three years and less than nothing once he signed his fat cat deal that is two years old.

I'd be happy with leslie frazier if his first name wasn't leslie.

My thought exactly. I was searching to see if someone else caught it. Not only that he is very articulate and has excellent grammar for someone minus a good education. He can go far if he gets the right break. Many companies are looking for people that simply know how to write a friggin sentence.

If TE had a better line, better receivers, a quicker release, a stronger arm, better instincts, a more aggressive style, a nice touch on short and deep balls, a good running game, better game planning and if he wasn't afraid to throw downfield he could make this list. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/style_emot...fault/flirt.gif

shanahan and cowher were successful coaches and may be again. they also evolved into prima donnas and only want to work in the perfect situation and they have enough talent and money to be selective. also few coaches succeed the second time around after they won. A bit of that fire in the belly is gone. Not getting them doesn't bother me tho i would not mind seeing cowher here if he truly commits to winning. that being said, a very good coordinator who has that fire and the desire could breathe life into this franchise especially if Nix drafts well and gets the other pieces we need. most important we are missing leaders on this team. hard to name one isn't it? kelly thomas bennett and talley were the leaders in the 90's. we had other great players smith reed tasker grant etc but those 4 were the real leaders. today our leaders on offense is ???? nobody. based on seniority and talent it should be evans but he doesn't have what it takes to be a leader, truthfully he's not even a very good player. watch his play versus the effort the receivers in pack/cards game today. evans doesn't belong on the field with these guys. defense poz is working toward being the leader, whitner tries but in truth he is not the guy and byrd is way too young, maybe byrd and poz will emerge. but until we get a coach with fire and players with balls this team is going nowhere.
