  1. Update: one shop has voted to unionize.
  2. I haven't looked into it at all. Part of their issue will be that there is no local franchisee to put the squeeze onto. It's all corporate all day. In a market like Buffalo I'm fairly certain Starbucks will just shut it down.
  3. Not sure if I've hit the 1000 mark but I've kept every book I ever bought, excepting the college texts that I could get decent resale for. Which was maybe 1 per year. I have boxes full of books just sitting, and three built-in bookcases plus two other bookcases full in my house. This includes a complete Britannica, 11th edition, plus the post-WWI supplement.
  4. This is their only opportunity. There isn't a fast food or coffee spot in the region that isn't currently hiring. Everyone is hurting for workers so they see this as their chance to organize and leverage the fact that they're already there, trained, and can get a job elsewhere in a heartbeat.
  5. You know, it's funny. During the Obama administration the Russians moved into Crimea and essentially just annexed it without nary a peep from the world aside from bloviating in the press. During the Biden administration the Russians appear to be making a move for the entirety of the Ukraine. But when Trump, allegedly a sock puppet controlled entirely by Kremlin kompromat, was in office, Russia did...what, exactly?
  6. I'd move to Buffalo in a heartbeat if I could get a transfer there. I just know where to go hang out, not necessarily live. Everyone is hiring out there, especially in hospitality. Good luck brother!
  7. Considering what Churchill would later say about the attack, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the British knew and said nothing. Churchill would say that when he laid his head down on 12/07/41, deep in his bones he knew that the war was won.

  10. I've said it a million times. The crazy part about Q isn't the idea that there are rings of pedophiles in elite positions in government. The crazy part is the idea that anybody with power cares enough to do something about it.
  11. Which high-tier fourth estate member has taken this and run with it? None? Oh. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/amphtml/jasonleopold/cia-employees-sex-crimes-children-secret-files-foia
  12. Pretty uninspiring couple of first drives there.
  13. Are they not going to count the bowl game? lol
  14. Based on yesterday's rankings yes. But the committee loves the smell of their own farts and Baylor is currently 9 while Houston is 21. I'm not guaranteeing anything but it's something to consider.
  15. If Bama wins I don't see a path for Cinci unless one of either OKST or Michigan loses their title game. Bama wins, Georgia gets in too I would think, unless Bama really beats the brakes off them.
  16. STI's, fatasses, smokers, etc. Again, when can we start denying catamites health insurance and prescription drug payouts for HIV-related treatments? And when can we stop the flow of billions of dollars (~$28B/annum) in AIDS spending?
  17. With regard to the father and 3rd dude: felony murder exists for a reason. You can make an argument for the guy filming but not the dad I don’t think. In any case the jury rejected that argument.
  18. Now do gay people and AIDS.
  19. It's the same strategy as 1/6 - "Sicknick killed by insurrectionists" or Rittenhouse "killed black people." They know that the emotional impact of the initial (false) story is what will stick with most normal people.
  20. What felony did he commit? I didn't follow his stuff that closely.
  21. I'm trying to sort your reasoning but my experience with the court system makes your position unclear to me. What do you mean by "confession?" As in a confession that is presented to a jury within the rules of evidence? Or an allocution? Or at any point in time they "confessed," whether under a circumstance where it falls under the various rules of evidence and within their consitutional rights to be presented at trial, or not?
  22. Fact check: true. Regardless of what Arbery was doing in that construction site, you can't confront him at gunpoint when it's not your *****in business. He posed no threat to you or yours. Do not pass go, *****.
  23. “Hate crime” is just an escalator for felonies that involve thoughtcrime, which relies on a ruling class to decide. Based on who gets prosecuted for “hate crimes,” we understand who the ruling classes favor.
  24. Tbh he sounds like he's ok, for now. Doesn't seem to have open hatred for the institutions that wronged him like many would (justifiably) in his position. I hope he has reasonable voices in his life telling him the right things. Hopefully the Tucker thing doesn't turn into a silly interview tour 'round the various right wing outlets. It's important to get a good face out there and make people face the lies they've told, but one big national interview is more than enough.
  25. He was defamed, with actual malice. He has lawyers feeding him that because he will, and should, sue the ***** out of any number of public officials and media members.
