  1. Honestly we’re reaching a point where the H or Y bombs are meaningless and that’s the only glaring thing missing from her resume. Nearly three years in the court of appeals compared to Jackson’s nine months or whatever. Regardless of how noble they might be, serving as a public defender or on the sentencing commission are not qualifications or even experience relevant to the position. Kagan was a bad choice, solicitor general be damned. But she’s held her own anyway. People make a big deal out of it but the reality is there are far more people able to do the job than will ever get a chance to.
  2. “If it functioned the way it’s supposed to.” So, as the highest appellate court in the land with little original jurisdiction? What is this B word on about? The only experience that is actually relevant to the job, it could be argued, is a seat on an appeals court. Which all but one person in that chart did before their appointment.
  3. Ah, the rewards for deftly handling a trial in which an individual was convicted of sex trafficking women to satisfy the sexual proclivities of her boss who committed suicide in jail while the cameras were off and the guards had abandoned post and *checks notes*, well that’s odd I don’t see any other clients’ names in my notes. Wonder why that is.
  4. I understand your larger point and agree with it to a certain extent, but I can tell you that the bolded, re: child pornography, is entirely incorrect. And the example about the truck driver isn't at all analogous to a child pornography case. You can't obtain child pornography by negligence. You can't obtain child pornography by reckless disregard for your computer security. You must willingly, intentionally, and deliberately seek these things out if you want to obtain them, and it is not done easily. Understand that because of our respective professions we will have some cynicism about the other's work and viewpoint. But I can tell you without a shred of doubt that every single person convicted of possessing and distributing child pornography in a federal courtroom (that is, it doesn't ordinarily fall under what many states call "sexting" statutes) should be punished as if they, themselves, raped a child.
  5. I’m sorry if I’m too thick to understand, but what exactly is nuanced about being convicted of jacking it to videos of children being raped?
  6. This is possible. He restructured last season to give us cap flexibility and I would assume they had some "let's talk extension this time next year" type conversations at that time. That said it's the busy season for the FO and extensions aren't on the top of the to-do list at the moment.
  7. No he can only identify young girls by smell.
  8. The biggest difference between the situations in Oakland and Miami vs. the one in Buffalo is a top-flight, MVP-caliber quarterback that you need to pay big $$$ to. Carr's cap hit next year is under $20M. Tua is on a rookie deal and I don't see any scenario in which he commands a $40M+ salary in the future. I love Diggs but if he's looking for $30M per they can park his ass in Seattle or some other place with a ***** QB and let him collect his check.
  9. I think we're exaggerating a bit here. This is basically an interview you can't fail. Who was the last nominee to get voted down? Bork?
  10. It's incredible to me that we've reached a point in our history where one of the most learned and eminently qualified jurists in this country is unable to articulate answers to predictable, simple questions from the Senate for fear of unintentionally violating the state religion.
  11. Made lots of friends in college, didn't talk to most of them after moving away. My randomly assigned freshman year roommate was the best man at my wedding a few years ago though, and I was the best man at his about a year before that. Don't have social media so that certainly played a part. I'm also admittedly neither very sentimental nor good at staying in touch with people, reaching out, etc. I am in a fantasy football league with another friend from college who now lives in Houston, so we chat about football sometime in August leading up to that draft.
  12. His FBI handlers literally called him “captain autism.”
  13. So the leniency in sentencing of sex offenders in this country is going to get an unlikely platform: Judge Jackson's confirmation process. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/03/17/durbin-white-house-disparage-emerging-conservative-attack-on-kbj-sex-offender-rulings-00018142 Yes, federal judges in this country believe that the sentencing guidelines for sex offenders who victimize children are too harsh. Chew on that one for a while.
  14. Great film! "I'm going to give him a proposal he'll find difficult to turn down." - The Goodfella
  15. Wtf I love Lamar Jackson now
  16. One of the laws of the universe is that a Kirk Cousins-led team cannot stray too far from .500.
  17. More like it’s one of the reasons why the libertarian party will never get any traction. ***** good! Drugs good! Unlimited immigration good! In any case the LGBTQ agenda was never advanced by legislation nationally. It’s one of the most successful ramrods shoved through the broken federal court system in history.
  18. Not elementary school but tangentially relevant. In 1999 it was seen as normal to portray a health teacher explaining to a high school student that porn is not representative of typical sexual relations between adults. And not only that, but to portray a 14 year old as being anxious and confused as a result of viewing pornography. Contrast this with the constant sexualization of minor characters in films and television today, the pushing of books *for children* containing pornographic content in schools, and "sex ed" summer camps for 7 year olds. Where's the fire and brimstone when you need it?

  20. There's one rule. Don't bet on sports. Especially don't bet on your own sport. This has been drilled into him since his first week as a student-athlete at Alabama.
  21. Was he that bad last year?
  22. Why are you so adamant that 5 year olds should be "educated" by school staff as to where ***** go?
