  1. I was listening to one of the post-mortem interviews and a couple of the former Kamala staffers indicated that they knew that they needed to move to center on several issues, particularly social ones, but thought it wouldn't be credible given how far left her actual policy commitments had been. In particular, they spent hours attempting to strategize a way to respond to the "they/them" ad but ultimately couldn't come up with anything that stuck. Also while the media was saying how terrible team Trump's strategy to get out the vote was apparently the Kamala campaign staffers were completely clueless as to how to slow it down.
  2. My first drum set blew everything else away. I was 9.
  3. Congrats on the house closing, Roundy. Keep coming here but delete your reddit account and never go back. There is help for terminal reddit brain.
  4. There's an article this week, I think in The Athletic, that essentially asks the question "aside from reputation, what's the actual difference between the Jets and the Giants since Tom Coughlin left?" What, indeed.
  5. "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses. The release of that song was basically 9/11 for me as a retail worker during November/December.
  6. Average Utica woman
  7. Must resist urge to fedpoast... The state being evil does not absolve you of your duty as a father and as a man. Unfortunately for Nancy, Congress decided in 1964 that men could use women's bathrooms. Fortunately for Nancy, with a Republican Congress and White House, she has a better chance than ever at speaking out against that 1964 act and introducing legislation to wipe it away. But that would require the courage of conviction that is generally absent from women, another reason why they should not be in government.
  8. Yeah before all these Mexicans showed up nobody knew how to build a house.
  9. Except for the metrics that would tell us how much he crippled ERO in his final years there bottoming out at a drop of about 50% in removals from 2008 to 2016.
  10. On a per year basis no, he didn't. I know what number you're citing and the books have been cooked. Return is not the same as removal.
  11. Yeah, those housing and transport costs should go way up with 30 million fewer people around.
  12. What's the complicated part? It's been done before and it can be done again. Homan seems reasonably capable https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2016/04/25/meet-the-man-the-white-house-has-honored-for-deporting-illegal-immigrants/
  13. I'll save the catharsis for when he actually keeps some promises this time. We'll see.
  14. We’re at levels of cope never thought possible here
  15. He’ll be quitting in two months when he gets a HC gig.
  16. Maybe they'll sell out a game or two.
  17. If Millennials end up turning the country around it's going to be the funniest thing ever.

For my fellow emo kids: MCR is doing a short tour called Long Live The Black Parade (follow up to their festival headline this year I assume, where they played The Black Parade in its entirety) in a few stadiums https://www.mychemicalromance.com/longlive
  20. Don’t make a drinking game out of it.
  21. At this point it’s just better to play it at their level and let it ride. Ultimately, in the long term, I think that this outcome is better than if Trump won in 2020. But to your point
  22. Solid thoughts. I plan on doing some takes on 1 and 5 with some references to my 2020 doomer thread about all the missteps and promises not kept in his first presidency. With regard to 2, the depressed turnout for Dems is wild. Some initial reports have independent voters (who broke for Kamala but by 4 fewer points than they did for Biden in 2020) outvoting registered Dems.
