Old man How long ago? You must have missed my birthday thread. Cincy made a point of posting my age I graduated high school one year ago today.

Hey, my public high school tennis coach used to tell me in a tough match, where it might come down to me winning for the team to win, "If you don't win we'll be dedicating 25 four-court suicide sprints to you next practice." Needless to say, I got out there and kicked my ass into gear during those matches. I had a lot of hardass teachers in high school, but they may be the exception. I can only speak for one school district.

I was like this in little league too. I pitched when I was 10, 11, and 12. I'd have days where I would hold the opposing team to 2 or less runs for the entire 6 innings and some scrub who drove in our meaningless 10th run would get the game ball...because it was his first hit in 3 games. Boy was I pissed. Of course, I quit baseball when I was 13 and picked up non-team sports. I hated sharing glory, and I hated sharing blame as well.

You're right, it'd be a lot nicer place without him. Just kiddin' around, Steely. HBD!

I couldn't care less about getting the !@#$ing flu. I take care of myself, I'm healthy, I could battle through it. It's the crippling and extremely-high-rate-of-death diseases that I would worry about, Polio being one of them.

I might add that in this day and age, it is very likely that such a Mary would indirectly spread it to 6 continents rather quickly.

My prediction: Scott posts and closes this thread on the one-year anniversary of its original post.

I see now. Allen v. Wright was a civil suit. Everything you've been saying about "standing" applies to civil suits. In civil suits, you may not sue on behalf of a third party or the rights of a third party. Criminal procedure in the United States includes the ability of the government to bring criminal charges against an individual or party.

Do you know who prosecutors represent? The accusers are the people of the state of New York, or the people of a certain county. It's a collective accusation made by "the people."
