  1. Not defending the guy, or his claims. Careful with the "12% are not believers" bit. Any rational person will tell you that there is "no way to know" and that they're "not sure." I'm still not sure what to make of the "higher power" types. Obviously that includes deism, but I suppose it could contain all sorts of people.
  2. As to the italicized: http://b27.cc.trincoll.edu/weblogs/AmericanReligionSurvey-ARIS/reports/p1b_belief.html So, not quite 90%, I suppose, but close.
  3. She transferred to LIU?
  4. Calling customer service was your first mistake
  5. You can use other programs to manage your iPod.
  6. We should just start an existentialist community. We can discuss our life goals and where we get meaning. We just haven't had life goals and meaning handed to us like religious people believe they have. Everything else could be similar.
  7. Even if that was the case, this is not the thread for it.
  8. Found a good guide to it. http://www.simplehelp.net/2006/08/14/how-to-convert-flac-files-to-mp3-using-windows/ There's a link in there to an OS X guide as well, which uses xACT.
  9. At least he got away, Civ allows the easily addicted that after a while. I've heard of WOW players who don't leave their houses for months.
  10. Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us. </Calvin and Hobbes>
  11. What OS do you use? On my PC (Windows XP), I decode .flac files using Winamp, then encode from .wav to .mp3 in iTunes. On my Mac (OS X 10.6), I decode .flac files using xACT, and encode from .wav to .mp3 in iTunes. Edit: I'll try to figure out where I found out how to do these things and post them here.
  12. It's so awful. Sounds like a love poem I'd write at 10 years old.
  13. Traits like that are not inherited naturally, they are taught. There is no excuse now.
  14. A bunch of people thought those songs were great (as shown by reaching #1), and they clearly aren't. So are the songs overrated, rather than the bands themselves? Sure did
  15. Did a "cheesiest songs" themed radio show today, and came across "Africa" by Toto and "Can't Fight This Feeling" by REO Speedwagon. Both songs were #1 hits, and I can't believe neither band has been mentioned here yet.
  16. And then nobody but Joe's computer saw Joe for a month.
  17. On the Republican side, Chris Gibson. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm going to vote for either in that election, really. I'm not really pissed at Murphy, but my head hit my keyboard they day I got an e-mail from his office explaining why he voted for the "health care" bill the second time it came around in the House, when he voted "nay" the first time.
  18. I'm voting. Requested my absentee ballot yesterday. Of course, I'm not voting for Scott Murphy. Still pissed at him.
  19. Cribbage! :worthy:
  20. See, the thing you have to recognize about your (read: our) professors is that they're basically talking from an ivory tower. Like Joe said, they aren't running a business. They're in a very protected position and are pretty much guaranteed their money every year.
  21. I don't *hate* Boston, but I suppose they sort of fall into this category. Every time "Hitch A Ride" comes on my shuffling library, I'll listen to it 5 times over. I absolutely love that song.
  22. Right at the Bills Online Store. http://www.shopthebills.com/buffalobillsbrianmoormanreplicajersey.aspx
