  1. Yeah, the riots in Vancouver were left-wing in nature. What a putz. I can't believe I even started reading after I saw her picture.
  2. We're halfway there now; all we need is EII to make his triumphant return and for Darin to... BRING BACK THE MANATEE!!!!! :worthy:
  3. Yeah, I think it's nice too, it's just that Lennon + Yoko + 1969 = A nice treat for Beatles fans made me crack up.
  4. If galaxies can learn punctuation, why can't TBD posters?
  5. John Quincy Adams, like the rest of our founding fathers, worked tirelessly to end slavery.
  6. "Clampdown" is a great song, but I just didn't think it was eardrum-busting enough for this thread. Some more: The Darkness - "Black Shuck" Electric Six - "Don't Be Afraid of the Robot" Nine Inch Nails - "The Great Destroyer"
  7. Interesting topic. I don't know about "favorites," but these are a few that came to mind (I like the "killing brain cells" qualifier): Transplants - "Diamonds and Guns" Dropkick Murphys - "The State of Massachusetts" The Clash - "Clash City Rockers" and "London's Burning" Captain Beyond - "Raging River of Fear" Rage Against The Machine - "Testify"
  8. It's best out of context. Actually, it's pretty good in context too. It tells us how much action you're getting
  9. Lord, bring the rain!

  15. Then why the hell are you inviting Beerball?
  16. Are you on a bender again, Booster?
  17. Some of those aren't even crazy. Or stupid. Some of them shouldn't be reaction-getting at all.
  18.
  19. Who said anything about higher or lower taxes? You said, "nothing." Not all conservatives think that the middle class pays nothing in taxes. In fact, I'd say that most of them probably don't. Implying that all conservatives do think this way and following it up by railing against that statement is, indeed, setting up a straw man. There's room for a legitimate argument to be made here. Don't waste your time on silly things like "according to conservatives, they pay nothing." So an obscure political forum, that approximately 20 people frequent (that's generous), on a board dedicated largely to discussion of the Buffalo Bills is representative of all conservatives? Interesting. Because that's ignorance, not a fallacy. I don't care nearly enough to illuminate ignorance in someone's life. That's why I think DC Tom is such a nice guy. He cares so much.
  20. I certainly am. Blanket statements often create straw men, whether you like it or not. It sure is easy to rail against unfair taxes while the "other side" is saying that the middle class pay nothing in taxes when it just isn't so.
  21. We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion
