Post-war Europeans wanted to rebuild their home, not flee to a new one. Much less move from one country that's already taken them in to another for the better freebies. And middle and upper class Syrians and Iraqis, for the most part, aren't walking through Hungary at the moment. I'm sure everyone is more than willing to take in those who can contribute in the modern working world. It's the ones who can't even maintain simple irrigation systems they're trying to pass off on one another.
