I think by the time June rolls around I'll be ready to spend stupid money on the Bills again.

The girl that I've been mocking mercilessly since the election is going. I imagine it'll have some traction, considering how much in lock-step the whole thing is with the media's collective priapism. DC Tom-bot needs to reboot faster.

Jamesway is a little before my time, but I do remember Ames. My mother picked up shifts there when money was tight, and after dinner my siblings and dad would take a field trip there to see mom at work. Windham's doing alright. The people who own the ski resort just bought Windham Country Club and are redoing the whole course, last I heard. You're not wrong. I want to say Walmart in Catskill opened in 2006, and at the time was the biggest in the state (I don't think it is anymore, I could be wrong). Some local businesses that survived up until then are still around, many actually doing better than ever. Catskill has a few decent restaurants owned by locals now, and there's a bunch of yuppie money pouring into the town to turn parts of the creekfront into artsy fartsy paradise. It's no Westchester, but since Walmart came to town I daresay Catskill's doing a bit better on the local front. Kingston, on the other hand, is circling the drain. But there are other reasons for that.

Someone I know was talking about Trump's tweet re: flag burning, calling for punishment for it: Them: "Can you believe that Trump wants to punish people who burn the flag?" Me: "You mean he would have supported that flag-burning bill that Hillary co-sponsored?" Them: "..." Either these are some funny coincidences or Trump is having a lot of fun making the left trip over their own shoelaces.

This nudge and wink sort of game that WNs are playing isn't new. The WNs have actually been doing this for some time. Wearing good clothes, getting respectable jobs, abstaining from tattoos and ****ty haircuts and other ways you easily identify a skinhead, toning down the rhetoric a bit and putting themselves in positions where they can wield influence without being immediately smacked down as illegitimate. Image is everything.
