  1. I'm genuinely curious, how is allowing players to sit out the anthem completely forcing patriotism on them? And what does a workplace code of conduct have to do with "taking away freedom?"
  2. Saw Deadpool last night. Great film, I wouldn't put it entirely on par with the first but IMO it's very close. Two red band trailers in my screening, one for Happytime Murders and one for Sorry to Bother You.
  3. There's always the China method. Show trial, then drag them out back and cap them over a pit.
  4. I know you're short but I had no idea that would go so far over your head.
  5. Very loosely, I have a "skin in the game" mindset. Landowners, members of the military, registrants for selective service, net taxpayers, some combination of the above, etc. It's not well-formed yet.
  6. A mod who isn't Darin locking a thread?! Outrageous! I am outraged! We the people of PPP demand proof of life! We will have no mod but Darin! -----------------------------------------------E Got my pitchfork! Feel free to copy and paste so you can have one too. FORWARD!
  7. It may well be, and I'm not saying that there is no truth to it. Shurter long ago exposed himself as a fraud in the Franklin Files community and associates with convicted sex offenders.
  8. I suppose I object to your characterization of him as a "survivor." He's a survivor of his own pathological narcissism, nothing more.
  9. Shurter is a known lunatic. And the SRA moral panic was just that, a moral panic. Pedophilia, child prostitution rings, and child abuse are very real. Don't diminish that fact by giving charlatans like Shurter your time or energy.
  10. I have a friend who is a true love-child. Her parents were both married to other people when she was conceived! They each divorced, then married each other, 23 years strong now. She has 8 half siblings and reunions are a blast.
  11. That may be. But historically the moderation of "political" posts in the regular forum has been less than ideal and many posts that were at the very least dog whistles towards certain political topics went untouched while responses in kind were removed and/or dealt suspensions/warnings for.
  12. They get the notification that they've been quoted. They are more than welcome to attempt to defend their viewpoint here.
  13. Guess we better tighten up regulations on explosives.
  14. And he's from my neck of the woods! Oh wait that's a disincentive, forget I said anything.
  15. Chef never added me back
  16. I have a friend I met in college who was home-schooled straight through high school. He was involved in some sort of home school "network" of parents and kids who would get together two or three times a week for play and whathaveyou. Then when he reached high school age he was able to play on his district's high school sports teams just the same as everyone else. Not sure how ubiquitous it is but there are options out there.
  17. As with many hot-button political issues, the "save one child" mantra is effective leftist rhetoric here. So the response when someone asks "how many children must suffer/die before we do _____________" is incredibly important. And that response is "all of them."
  18. Brother, you don't know the half of it.
  19. I thought of you when I made my post upthread.
  20. Fun part is she'd probably get the kids in the divorce. Other fun part is he probably paid her bond.
  21. Off-duty cop in Brazil. Every time. A fine example of a successful attempt at the room temperature challenge, though.
  22. A religious leader thinks that people who don't subscribe to their particular faith won't go to heaven? Color me shocked. Just. Shocked.
  23. He's just making a point about gun control. It's impossible for Palestinians to have guns because Palestinians are prohibited from owning them.
  24. Coming from a Mohammedian, this is hilarious.
  25. His point was that there isn't much comparison between Allen's arm and JP's or Manuel's. Not that 94mph fastballs can't win you baseball games. So do you get paid to miss the point, or is it more of a hobby?
