I started getting the feeling it would be Kavanaugh earlier today. Longer track record as a judge, better pedigree. Time will tell how he does. Not so odd, considering the squawking that Dems have been putting up. Kavanaugh is ostensibly a fan of stare decisis and clerked for Kennedy back in his youth. If I had to bet I'd say his Supreme Court record, compared to current justices, will end up looking most like Alito's.

Working out is essentially my meditation. Runners' high and what have you. I only shower with cold water, and sit underneath it for 10 minutes or so doing a sort of meditation...no mantras or anything just trying to clear my head while simulating some stress and discomfort. Since I started doing that I find that I deal with everyday stresses without really getting stressed at all, and major life events (death in the family/of a close friend, losing a job, moving, etc.) affect me much less than they used to.

Always keep two in the kitty. The ability to easily say "next" when a trick is acting up is a cure-all for their ****.

I'm not terribly fond of Kethledge. Kavanaugh could go either way. Barrett is as close to a sure thing that conservatives can get with the three "front-runners" named in the article. There are knocks on her: lesser pedigree in ND Law school, member of a fringe ecumenical Christian group, little experience as a judge (which generally means less predictability for future rulings). Clerking for Scalia helps ease worries, as do several writings of hers outside of her time on the bench.

Shhh, don't pre-empt the nerd rage.

Based on his personal behavior, I would go with this one.

And was cancelled because it was a bad show. Fun concept though.

There are several "Anglican" churches that have split off as they disagreed with the slide towards theological liberalism in the Anglican communion. The ACNA, for example, is made up of conservative former members of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada.

The American portion of the Anglican Communion.
-
Satire that is far too close to reality on occasion. The Episcopalian Church no longer resembles the historic, orthodox faith. Hyperbole aside, that is my point, which I thought was easily recognized.

I have Lawrence v. Texas on line 1 for you. And the Episcopalian Church holding on line 2.

Hell, I'll double down. The Republican party hasn't gone far enough. Everything the Democrats fight for in the name of "progress," the Republicans end up fighting to conserve 10-20 years later. No more. A large portion of American people are sick and tired of being betrayed by those who would call themselves our betters. Unfettered mass immigration, social programs designed to be handcuffs rather than help, kissing the boots of corporations and calling it the "free market," bending over on every social issue from trannies to abortion to guns in the name of "bipartisanship," etc. etc. Enough is enough. A reactionary movement is long overdue. Trump has demonstrated this by his election alone. Also, your notion that the Democrats haven't moved further to the left is incredibly silly. Imagine your average 2018 Democrat waking up in 1980 suddenly. How far to the left of the average person are they?

I'm likely in. Some farmer from North Carolina found my pics online and has been harassing me though. Might have to go in disguise.

June Movies: Jurassic World, Incredibles, Ocean's 8 & Hereditary
LeviF replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Saw "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" and, though it wasn't a June movie per se, "First Reformed" was playing at my local backwater theater and I saw that as well. The documentary was fantastic. Learned a lot about Fred Rogers the man and the evolution of the show. Love how they did it, really splendid. "First Reformed" I thought was good also. Definitely a Shrader film. Ethan Hawke was really good and Amanda Seyfried was good as well in a different sort of role than most of the things I've seen her in. A bit surreal and definitely worth seeing if it hits the independent theater near you. -
Based on his writing this term, it doesn't surprise me. He's mailed it in. Not in a legal writing sense, but in a "I just don't give a !@#$ anymore" sense.

That can certainly be arranged. I have friends at several bars right near the palace so I could probably snag a reserved table.

I'll be there also. Big fan of both artists.

Hot for Teacher/Hot for Teacher's BFF
LeviF replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
It was the early 90's. Everyone looked like a dweeb back then. Doesn't help that, towards the end, I'm guessing nothing fit him quite right anymore. AIDS sucks.
