Bills one of 6 teams in on Leveon Bell
LeviF replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Leveon on the Colts would be a ton of fun to watch. -
I'm a big Nabokov fan. His short stories are great and Invitation to a Beheading is one of my favorite novels. I like postmodern fiction as well (to which Nabokov had some contributions later in his career) - David Foster Wallace, Thomas Pynchon, Neil Gaiman, etc. I enjoy reading people's first novels for some reason. Most recently, The Manual of Detection by Jedediah Berry was a very fun read.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
LeviF replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One of my bosses has an M1A he's trying to unload. Military parts too. I'm sore tempted. -
Collins will be looking for that kind of deal, but the FA market at safety is pretty crowded this year and there aren't a lot of guys that get big money at that position regardless of market. That said he's the best at the position on the market and someone may well cough up a big contract for him. I doubt it'll be us, as nice as having him would be.

Shows That Were Cancelled Too Soon
LeviF replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The great thing about Party Down was that it was a show about washed up actors and actors who couldn't break into the industry and make it big, all played by washed up actors and actors who couldn't break into the industry and make it big (Lizzie Caplan notwithstanding). Then Adam Scott and Jane Lynch get big roles in established TV series and it ends the show. -
TV Shows That Stayed On Too Long

From what I understand he had some major issues getting along with some of the upper management in the series. This disagreeableness somehow hasn't managed to show up anywhere else though. -

Pretty much my experience. I liked Eccleston a lot, too bad he only lasted one season. -

Speaking of which, the current running of Doctor Who belongs in this thread. -

For all the flak he took, I thought he got a lot better as the year went on. Didn't help that ESPN got mostly dog**** games and he was stuck in a three-way with Tessetore and some idiot named Booger for the entire year. -

Before some idiot says Firefly, Firefly was cancelled because it was a bad show. Shouldn't have got past the pilot. -
There are several ways to prove it, both intuitively and mathematically, but .9999999... is indeed equal to 1.

TV anchor commits suicide after corrective eye surgery
LeviF replied to SDS's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My reading comprehension is just fine; you said "outside of that (using reading glasses at the OTB), my vision is the same as the day I left the surgery center in 2000." Is low light vision not part of "my vision?" Write better, you old fart. And work on that gumbo recipe while you're at it. -

First, consider the source. Cowherd is a blowhard. However, if his wife wanted to go elsewhere I think Russell would follow her around like the whipped fool that he is. His ability to repeatedly take public humiliation over her without really saying anything is indicative of his inability to take proper control over his life.

I try to get a call into WGR every time I'm day drunk. Maybe everyone else has the same idea.
