What is better, no guns, or more guns?
LeviF replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Bleh, Italian guns. can't go wrong with either of those pistols. I highly recommend staying away from the 870 express. Remington post-2007 is hit or miss at best. -

Can't go wrong with a 12 gauge for home defense. Pricing runs the gamut but for a middling budget (~$500) you can't go wrong with a Mossberg 590. A lot of people prefer the a1 variety but unless you're a super duper tacticool guy there's really no need. Ghost ring sights are generally useless for home defense purposes so no worries if whatever you get doesn't have them. If you're talking all-times defense obviously you'll want to go with a compact handgun for concealed carry. There are tradeoffs involved here - a smaller gun is easier to conceal but harder to shoot while a larger gun is tougher to conceal and easier to shoot. See if you can try out a few at a gun shop/range combo, a lot of those places will let you rent a gun for some range time. 9mm is fine for self-defense, so something like a Glock 19 (~$500) or Smith and Wesson M&P9 compact (~$350) will do fine and have lots of accessory options due to popularity. Whatever you go with take a class appropriate for what you're buying, usually you'd want to do this right after buying your gun. Shotgun classes are typically fun and informative while conceal carry classes can run from incredibly boring and useless to super fun depending on who you get as an instructor. Whatever you do, make time to practice! -
I'm not your bro, dude.

Um, he's withholding money from LEAs who won't comply with "reforming" aka kneel to the BLM mob. Meanwhile all sorts of money still flows right to sanctuary cities.
-
The Trump admin has threatened to withhold LE money from Sanctuary Cities but has yet to do so. But in one stroke of a pen unless LEAs "reform" they don't get any money. Priorities.

Here’s a good example.

Sincerely, I was looking forward to you showing up, though I figured this would be your reaction. Is there anything about this administration in the last two days that doesn't signal complete surrender?

PM me if you have questions. Idk what "DC area" means but depending on your jurisdiction the laws are going to restrict what you can buy. Unless you plan on obtaining one illegally it'll take you 6+ months to get a stamp for a short barrel shotgun. Unless you don't mean a literal short barrel shotgun and just mean a shotgun with a 18" barrel or something, in which case sky (or budget) is the limit. -
What is "bad faith"? Where does the term originate?
LeviF replied to GregPersons's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No, I mean that I reject the ideas that ugly people come up with out of hand. Edit to say: beauty is in no way relative. It is encoded into the universe. There is math and physics to account for it. Saying that beauty is relative or fictional is a gnostic cope. -

Every picture of Sartre I see just reinforces the notion that physiognomy is real. I reject the ideas of ugly people as a rule. -
"Want" is the wrong word. But I do recognize that it's probably the only option left if American nationalism has a chance. I don't think it would be "war" in the 1861 sense, though.

The winners write history and, sorry to say, it doesn't look like the right will be writing the history books.

Yeah, the guy complaining about less policing and more criminals on the streets is an anarchist. Moron We need Bannon back.

Glad we agree.

I don't believe there is a political solution left to Americans at this point. 2A traitor, capitulating to the mob about "police brutality," for a start.

Dave Chappelle releases half-hour stand-up special 8:46
LeviF replied to GregPersons's topic in Off the Wall Archives
He was on Inside the Actors Studio a while back (2006 maybe?) - check it out if you can, he talks briefly about this and it gives you some clues as to what made him disappear. There's no smoking gun but I don't think it was just fame. Hollywood is ***** up. -
So, Trump voters/prospective Trump voters - tell me which of these things you signed up for: Activist judges (bu-bu-but we have to vote Republican 4 da courtz!") "Opportunity zones" Half a wall Violent felons released from prison (while shouting that "Biden sent them there!!!") Burned churches Less policing Cities wrecked Kardashian admin ??? The dude has been handed two absolutely crushing, golden opportunities in the last four months and did ***** nothing with them. Absolute flops. Not only did he have four years to fulfill his promises on the borders but g-d set a pandemic from China at the last minute on a ***** tee and he completely whiffed. Then g-d tosses up a hanging curveball of riots and we could have had law and order and victory parades and he ***** bunts it right back to the pitcher and ***** his pants on the way to first. Everyone I talk to who was excited about Trump 2-3 years ago is demoralized now. Not a great line to take - to dump all the excitement your prospective voters have to go to the polls. I don't care if you think they're a "silent majority." Pandering to 12% of the population trying to get maybe a few thousand of them to find their "natural conservative" burning inside of them isn't a winning strategy. Trump said he'd drain the swamp but the swamp drained him. ****heads like Kushner, Dan Crenshaw, Greg Abbott, and their ilk should have been run out of the RNC/GOP/offices on rails years ago. Instead we get HW Bush but with more rallies. You can't change my mind.

This is only a "racist cops" problem if race was actually the cause of this. But there's a compelling reason to believe it isn't. Rob briefly referenced this but there's good reason to believe that differences in police use of force by race is better explained by differences in crime rate by race. See table 12 (PDF warning!) https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/cv18.pdf The NCVS excludes homicide since you can't exactly survey homicide victims. But the Justice Department's 2011 report is striking. See table 1 (PDF warning, again) https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/htus8008.pdf Not to mention that 38% of police officers that are feloniously killed are killed by black people. https://ucr.fbi.gov/leoka/2018/tables/table-42.xls If you accept the very reasonable premise that deadly force is most likely to be used by police when an officer either responds to a call involving violent crime or is, him/herself, the victim of a violent crime, then this becomes a very different discussion.

Jake Fromm: Controversial comments

Indeed. Like Christianity, critical height theory proposes that we are all born with original sin - the sin of heightism. Unlike Christianity, critical height theory offers no forgiveness for this sin. -

Chappelle the undisputed GOAT. "I dare you to say me" He's right though. Dave Chappelle might be the only person I've listened to who never lied to me. -

Cops can look forward to guarding church parking lots for 8-12 hours, only responding to dispatches, never going above the speed limit even to a hot call. Policing basically disappears in rural areas this way. Literally no reason to run code at all with the way things are trending. Warrant with a guy's name and address on it? Not hitting the house, name might be wrong, address might be wrong. Traffic stop, guy comes back with a warrant. Not making that arrest. That warrant might have been served already, and there's no sense in waiting for ORI to confirm because if for some reason it's been served and they forgot to clear it then suddenly it's an unreasonable amount of time because hey, no warrant. No foot chases, no car chases; can't take that risk. And that's for the probably ~50% of cops that'll actually stay on after you open them up individually to lawsuits.
