Yep, we just experienced one of the largest wealth transfers in history and nobody even blinked. We can wait in line at walmart but g-d forbid the local sporting goods store be able to stay open for their five patrons an hour. A street in my city that was all small businesses is now plastered with "for lease" signs. And for those upthread: yes, social isolation can absolutely amplify the feelings of hopelessness that cause suicide. Not to mention financial ruin, loss of employment, etc. Whether driving people closer to suicide was worth it or not I suppose is up to our friends in the actuarial sciences.

Waitresses and lady bartenders call me hon, honey, babe, baby, etc. all the time. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm less of a "hon" or "honey" guy and more likely than not to say "Ms." But if a waiter/waitress is acting real ***** then I'll hit them with a "sweetheart" or "champ" dripping with sarcasm.

I'm extremely skeptical as there is literally no reason for any mainstream news publication to sit on this story. Not in today's era. Sexual harassment scandals are big news and there's literally no downside to running with it. This dude saying that deadspin, of all places, wouldn't run the story is the clincher for me.
