Around here at least, anecdotally, most of the daytime protestors at the pre-organized events were masked. The nighttime "protestors," erm, not so much.

This is your reminder that Colin Powell hasn't supported a Republican nominee since 2004. And he's a war criminal who is, in part, responsible for the debacle in Iraq. But the left is so hell-bent on whitewashing W's presidency they parade Powell out like he's some kind of principled thinker in these matters. I sometimes wonder if I was the only person awake in 2003.

I normally do a summer concert thread starting in May every year. Pretty upset about 2020 sucking so hard because I had some decent shows lined up to work/attend. All the normal summer block party type things didn’t happen and I doubt any of the big fall events around here will go on. Pretty depressed tbh. C’est la vie.

I did not vote in 2016 and will not vote this time around. I was encouraged by Trump's selection of advisors and appointees early on. But his turning on Bannon, Sessions, and the like while retaining idiots like Kushner convinced me for now that this is not an "America first" administration. I appreciate Greg's take on the situation and I suppose we will see, should Trump get a second term and the Senate holds. Admittedly between work and personal things I can't keep up with the different views as much as I'd like.

Yes, which makes the point even more salient. I think Milano is a decent LB. Way outclassed his draft status, to be sure. But $14M AAV would be insane. Maybe he'll go get $10-12M AAV somewhere but I doubt it'll be here. This may be a situation where they can't figure out an extension number and let him go see what's out there.

For context, $14M salary this year would make Milano the 12th highest paid LB in the league. Even excluding guys on their rookie deals still, Milano is not close to being the 12th best LB in the league.

I teach several topics at police academies, one of which is fraudulent document identification. These Chinese (and Russian) websites advertise fake IDs to get into bars and the like. You can get two decent quality fake IDs with your actual name and picture on it for $100 or less. They just need your real information to "verify" your identity (i.e. not law enforcement). Trouble is the real money isn't in selling you a fake, it's turning around and selling your personal identifying information. And there's no telling who gets that information, or where the money ultimately ends up. And all this occurs with the tacit approval of their government.

Clarity: by “Republicans” I meant the RNC. In context I’m talking about campaign strategy that doesn’t have much to do with the average “voting public republican,” if you will. And to say they’re blind is being charitable. It implies that they’re not just controlled opposition.

I mean yeah he should probably have more content than that but let's not pretend that there's more than one answer that MLJ would find "acceptable." It's a non-story that he's turning into a story about himself instead of asking tough follow-up questions. It's a journalistic failure.
