  1. This is true, it depends somewhat on what you’re trading in. Not everyone gets hosed.
  2. Well, kind of. You got a discount on a new car that was $1800 more than you paid. The dealership I bought my CPO impala from three years ago just offered me $12k on trade but that’s a bit different from cash in hand.
  3. New car dealers are moving more and more towards the "store" model. There are some holdouts still but many will not negotiate the sticker on the car without you sticking a competing offer in their face. Trading in sucks for the reasons already noted upthread. If you're buying a new car your best bet is to just find out exactly (down to the color, trim, extras) what you want and then look for that car specifically. Then find the best deal and see if other dealers will beat it. Rinse and repeat until you get a bunch of "no" then pull the trigger. The brokers essentially do this for you but they have the connections and pull to fast-track the process. There's more wiggle room with used cars because, also as noted upthread, they absolutely murder people on the trade-ins. I got my CPO Impala, that was advertised at $17k, out the door for $14.5k because it had been sitting on the lot for nearly a month and I was willing to drive 300 miles for a better deal if necessary.
  4. We won’t see a ***** penny of those “infrastructure” dollars. Funding for “infrastructure” without specifics is a very transparent attempt to pay off political debts. And “staying in the race” while still tossing around H1Bs and other such favors as if they’re chocolate coins at a bar mitzvah is impossible.
  5. I tested positive for antibodies last summer, never felt sick but supposedly that counts.
  6. Probably doesn't want to boost the competition for Josh's NutsTM
  7. Eat local beef and lamb. Drink raw milk. Follow one god. Despise modern architecture and modern literature. Lift weights. Get married and have children.
  8. At this point, LeBron should want LeBron to shut up and dribble. Having consistently bad takes is a pretty ***** hobby. But then you haven’t realized that yet either so 🤷🏻‍♂️
  9. lmao NYPD had to extend their application deadline and waive the fee
  10. I mean let's be real. But yeah trading him to a team that's most definitely in your way for a cheap one-year rental seems odd.
  11. So the Ravens trade away a pro bowl tackle to move from 58 to 31. Big brain stuff right there.
  12. Lot of good ones. Not a band but Joni Mitchell is Canadian. Arcade Fire, The Tragically Hip, Three Days Grace, Steppenwolf, The New Pornographers all haven't been mentioned yet. And yes Gug I ignored your OP instructions.
  13. "...and everybody stood up and clapped!"
  14. You need data to believe that a taser is outgunned by an actual gun?
  15. Just some helpful tips to help ensure your loved ones’ safety ❤️
  16. The jews wanted him to shut up the Romans wanted the jews to shut up lol it's the pain cycle.
  17. He’s a writer in hollywood. That kind of work is what you type up before breakfast to get the juices flowing.
  18. If it were an NRA platform it would be far less effective 🤣
  19. There's a lot of reasons why hiring sucks right now and pay is a factor in a lot of areas. FHP starts at like $15/hr to do traffic stops of Florida Men in 100 degree heat. That's insane. Many agencies are down people right now. NYPD down 8%, NYSP down about 10% at the moment and you can tell. My agency is down 10%. There are big city PDs in the south that are 30 or 40% down. When you're down 30% of sworn personnel it's almost impossible to catch back up without dropping standards. And most places have dropped standards significantly in the past 50 years already.
  20. You should hang a sign, "Reggie Bush slander will not be tolerated in this dentist chair"
  21. Baseball objectively sucked in the 80s. This is incontrovertible. I am an admitted very casual baseball fan, always have been.
  22. Baseball seems to come and go, almost pendulum-like in its appeal and popularity.
