  1. Counterpoint: Democrats are literally incapable of not doubling down. Admitting they were wrong about even one part of the ideology causes the entire thing to fall apart. GOP needs to hammer it all: the cultural issues AND the working class economic issues. Rare opportunity for the GOP here; the Democrats have never had less connection with the labor class than they do now.
  2. Nah, they sufficiently “fortified” the vote around 3am. I was shooting heroin and reading “The Fountainhead” in the front seat of my privately owned police cruiser when a call came in. I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. It was the chief. “Bad news, detective. We got a situation.” “What? Is the mayor trying to ban trans fats again?” “Worse. Somebody just stole four hundred and forty-seven million dollars’ worth of bitcoins.” The heroin needle practically fell out of my arm. “What kind of monster would do something like that? Bitcoins are the ultimate currency: virtual, anonymous, stateless. They represent true economic freedom, not subject to arbitrary manipulation by any government. Do we have any leads?” “Not yet. But mark my words: we’re going to figure out who did this and we’re going to take them down … provided someone pays us a fair market rate to do so.” “Easy, chief,” I said. “Any rate the market offers is, by definition, fair.” He laughed. “That’s why you’re the best I got, Lisowski. Now you get out there and find those bitcoins.” “Don’t worry,” I said. “I’m on it.” I put a quarter in the siren. Ten minutes later, I was on the scene. It was a normal office building, strangled on all sides by public sidewalks. I hopped over them and went inside. “Home Depot™ Presents the Police!®” I said, flashing my badge and my gun and a small picture of Ron Paul. “Nobody move unless you want to!” They didn’t. “Now, which one of you punks is going to pay me to investigate this crime?” No one spoke up. “Come on,” I said. “Don’t you all understand that the protection of private property is the foundation of all personal liberty?” It didn’t seem like they did. “Seriously, guys. Without a strong economic motivator, I’m just going to stand here and not solve this case. Cash is fine, but I prefer being paid in gold bullion or autographed Penn Jillette posters.” Nothing. These people were stonewalling me. It almost seemed like they didn’t care that a fortune in computer money invented to buy drugs was missing. I figured I could wait them out. I lit several cigarettes indoors. A pregnant lady coughed, and I told her that secondhand smoke is a myth. Just then, a man in glasses made a break for it. “Subway™ Eat Fresh and Freeze, Scumbag!®” I yelled. Too late. He was already out the front door. I went after him. “Stop right there!” I yelled as I ran. He was faster than me because I always try to avoid stepping on public sidewalks. Our country needs a private-sidewalk voucher system, but, thanks to the incestuous interplay between our corrupt federal government and the public-sidewalk lobby, it will never happen. I was losing him. “Listen, I’ll pay you to stop!” I yelled. “What would you consider an appropriate price point for stopping? I’ll offer you a thirteenth of an ounce of gold and a gently worn ‘Bob Barr ‘08’ extra-large long-sleeved men’s T-shirt!” He turned. In his hand was a revolver that the Constitution said he had every right to own. He fired at me and missed. I pulled my own gun, put a quarter in it, and fired back. The bullet lodged in a U.S.P.S. mailbox less than a foot from his head. I shot the mailbox again, on purpose. “All right, all right!” the man yelled, throwing down his weapon. “I give up, cop! I confess: I took the bitcoins.” “Why’d you do it?” I asked, as I slapped a pair of Oikos™ Greek Yogurt Presents Handcuffs® on the guy. “Because I was afraid.” “Afraid?” “Afraid of an economic future free from the pernicious meddling of central bankers,” he said. “I’m a central banker.” I wanted to coldcock the guy. Years ago, a central banker killed my partner. Instead, I shook my head. “Let this be a message to all your central-banker friends out on the street,” I said. “No matter how many bitcoins you steal, you’ll never take away the dream of an open society based on the principles of personal and economic freedom.” He nodded, because he knew I was right. Then he swiped his credit card to pay me for arresting him.
  3. Yes, continue with this strategy. It worked very well this time around.
  4. The GOP just made double digit gains in Virginia on the back of “cultural issues.”
  5. House flipping to R looks pretty good as of tonight. House Democrats in swing states gotta be scrambling right now. I predict that different sects of Dems in the House will draw different conclusions about the Gov races playing out tonight. Government will grind to a bit of a halt as a bunch of these guys will be trying to figure out how to save themselves come November, perhaps even get jumpy as primary challengers appear in the next few months. What positions will the incumbents tie themselves to in order to try to avoid a double digit swing in their own race? Ten months of government got them to where they are tonight. They’re going to feel a strong urge to try and right the ship quickly in a bid for self-preservation.
  6. Quick and dirty look at VA gov returns, seems like Youngkin flipped 12 counties/cities that went for Biden last year, and increased republican share in nearly every county/city that went for Trump.
  7. Her pronoun is socialist, self-identified.
  8. “Write-ins” lead Walton about 60-40 right now.
  9. Is his HS football team having that bad of a year?
  10. Y'all are just mad that he's rich and talented and good looking.
  11. I know we don't want this to go off the rails (gl fam) but that's literally by design. Executions are cheap, the legal process by which we get there is excruciating in its length and red tape, for better or for worse, for a theoretical purpose.
  12. DUI resulting in serious injury/death. Class B felony. Used to be covered under a murder statute. Was changed recently.
  13. I mean maybe. Denver doesn't play Buffalo this year and Miller's a UFA at the end of the year so really they aren't dictating much. He could easily play out the season for the Rams and sign with the Chiefs in March.
  14. Agree with every part except for inflation getting down. We have real issues with the US Dollar and I'm pretty doom and gloom on its prospects. You will see the dollar go further in some states as the moral authority to govern continues to shift toward the states and they take advantage, essentially nullifying various taxes/regulations from the federal government and forming their own trade and production agreements. This government, as we already see, is not equipped to deal with a nullification crisis, and so it will leverage media to pretend they still have firm control while some states float further away from actual federal authority.
  15. Well you could have just said that!
  16. Yes, knowing that Miller only has this year left on his contract. "Soon" for the Broncos is as "soon" as they get a real QB. Which isn't this year barring some miracle on the Watson front today. So it likely just came down to who cared less about their draft picks. And when the Rams are involved, they're gonna win that every time.
  17. oh no please don't let large cities become distrubing hellscapes nooo...
  18. Oh lordy you're right. Last I saw it was 31-0 lmao I never bothered checking again
  19. The spreads this year are ridiculous. Rams favored by like 17 yesterday and covered. Bills favored by 2 TDs...and covered. Jets were given 11 but won outright lol. The NFL is not the product it was a short while ago. The haves and have nots are even starker due to the shift in rules to favor offenses and stellar QB play.
  20. Yep. It's a man's sport. Anybody here who played competitive sports at any level beyond youth soccer knows this. And in any case, it's not like they were out there taking shots at the EZ. The Phins turned the ball over at the 11, clock wasn't going to hit 0:00 on that drive unless the Bills got a 1st down inside of the 1...what do you expect the Bills to do on 4th down with time left on the clock? Just knee it and politely give the Phins the ball back? No, you're OK with a field goal there but not a little QB rollout on 3rd down? ***** that.
  21. ***** the Dolphins. Classless city, classless franchise, they neither deserve nor receive any consideration.
  22. Even my wife can back in thanks to back up cameras and the on-screen guide. What are you people doing in New Hampshire?
  23. He’s the leader of a political party who has staked out unlimited access to abortion up through the third trimester as their party line. Spare me the “catholic” *****. It’s high time the court did away with Roe and Griswold.
  24. Unless he brings Bannon back no thanks
