  1. Dan Fouts also fits that category -- also, like Moon, never even PLAYED in a SB -- but he should have won MVP the year they gave it to Mark freaking Moseley. On the flip side, Roman Gabriel swept all the awards in 1969 but isn't in the Hall of Fame.
  2. Everything comes from the core. Throwing, pitching, swinging a golf club, swinging a bat, all the same principles. All the energy comes from the core and is transferred through your arms and hands to the ball/bat/club. If you start with your arms/hands, no energy gets transferred and you're a lot more likely to injure your arm because it's doing all the work. My son plays college baseball and it's just a massive difference between how he learned to hit and how us old guys were all taught in the '70s and '80s. I get in the cage on a lark and I can feel I'm all arms and hands. I can still hit at my advanced age, but not with anywhere near the power he has, and it's not just because he's a hell of a lot stronger than me. Josh has the physical gifts to throw and play at a very high level despite mechanical flaws. Now that he's fixed those... that's why he's a unicorn. Most guys with those physical gifts never feel the need to correct their flaws.
  3. Maybe, and there's no doubt that Arizona was a terrible situation. But there were always rumblings that Rosen didn't love football, and moreover, he didn't NEED football either. Comes from a well-off family, almost went to Princeton instead of UCLA, and now he's doing his MBA at Wharton. I love Josh Allen, but he'd probably be the first to tell you that if he wasn't a pro athlete he'd be a melon farmer. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it's like Pete Carril used to say: "I want one-car garage guys. You can't win with three-car garage guys. Two cars, you have a shot. But not three." Josh Rosen? He's a three-car garage guy.
  4. Which seems appropriate, since Josh as a QB is everything people used to say Elway was, except a LOT more so.
  5. There was a narrative!
  6. If we still had Frank Reich, we probably still would have won that game, Natrone Means notwithstanding. Once Collins had to come in, any chance we had evaporated. As done as that team was after seven years of mostly deep playoff runs, we still only lost 30-27.
  7. took an hour at most
  8. I swear to god if CBS tries to bill this game as “between the only two teams to defeat the Chiefs this year..”
  9. I don’t like in-game coach interviews, but when Mayo was interviewed between the 1st and 2nd quarter yesterday, I remember thinking “he’s not good at this at all.” Like he was trying to be Belichick, acting dismissive of the question. I wish I could remember the question and response. Then last night they did the same interview with Kevin O’Connell and he looked into the camera, smiled, and actually answered the question. I’m not saying Mayo had to be bubbly, but he hasn’t done anything to warrant being the gruff old ball coach who can’t be bothered with media demands (no matter how ridiculous). In a way he reminded me a bit of Greggo and St. Doug. And apparently — not unlike them — he’s had problems all season with the media part of his job. I sympathized with him a bit yesterday though. He had a pretty good idea what was coming and probably didn’t want to say anything that would get him in trouble.
  10. Another reason they fired him so quickly could be that they’re spooked by the Jets’ already interviewing Vrabel, and they wanted to throw their hat in the ring before the Jets could quickly lock him up. This could get interesting, this battle of egos between Kraft and Johnson.
  11. Today really could not be going any better.
  12. Dolphins really gonna lose to the dog-ass Jets. Which means it's entirely the Chiefs who are going to keep the Bengals out of the playoffs. Love it.
  13. Wonder if McDaniel is next
  14. They must be so pissed about losing the #1 pick lol
  15. The Dolphins clearly saw the scoreboard and have packed it in. I'm enjoying this.
  16. As if the Chiefs were worried about the Dolphins getting in.
  17. Aaron got his 500th but he threw it to a nobody instead of his buddy Adams.
  18. That's one of the most insane plays I've ever seen. Let's hope Denver uses up all its luck this week.
  19. What's up with Eli Apple these days anyway?
  20. that's missing Jones, McDuffie, and Karlaftis...
  21. You probably couldn't draw it up any better than for the Bengals and Dolphins to furiously win out over the last month only to be denied entrance to the playoffs because the Chiefs decided not to play.
  22. I was not ready for the end of that. I LOLed so hard I can still hear it echoing.
  23. If this game meant anything we would be up by 40
  24. They’re trying to get all the commercials in
