I have to agree 100%.
If this recent success only turns out to be a flash in the pan and the team really isn't that good, how long til the OP is off the bandwagon and rooting for the Dolphins, Bucs, Jags again?
Bandwagon is full. Been a fan since the early 70's and never once have I left.
WOW! didn't know that. Oh I see it must have been a different Matt Cassel that threw like 27 TDs last year in the NFL and a different Matt Cassel who went 10-6 for NE as a starter a couple of years ago.
Is this new high school guy any good?
I think Fitz is best.
After thinking for a bit I thought of a couple that tie into his alma mater.
The Crimson Chin (yes like the cartoon)
The Crimson Cannon
If Fitz is Irish, how about the Irish Rocket.
I dunno, given enough time i'm sure someone will come up with something good.
Right! and I can play that game too. 8 of his turnovers were in only 2 games. Why can't you just give the guy some credit instead of trying to pick his accomplishments apart?
and that is exactly my point. You can throw all those guys in a hat pull out a name and have them start anywhere and for the most part not miss a beat, and Fred is included in tha group. Therefor to me those you mentioned are really no better than Fred.
It's debatable whether, Stewart, Jones, Jacobs, Gore, LT nowadays, Forte, Bradshaw are better than Fred.
Not to mention everyone of those guys except, MJD, Stewart, and Jackson play on better teams with better supporting cast.
Not sure what you are talking about, "lacks in size"? because FJ is a decent sized back.
He is listed everywhere at 6'1" 215lbs, pretty good size for a running back.
He is not the fastest guy in the world, but he's not slow either, and he sure isn't small.
Along with all this, you can't overlook the effectiveness Dave Wannsteadt(however the hell you spell his name) is going to have on the defense as a whole, compared to last year. I like what I see and a lot of people are going to have the shiit surprised right out of them with this years defensive unit.
Believe what you want, but that's not what the numbers say...
without Evans in the game--4 games
Johnson 4.8 catches and 54.4 yards per game 1 TD
with Evans in the game--11 games
Johnson 5.3 catches and 72.8 yards per game 9 TD
As much as I want to see him eclipse last years numbers, i'm a realist and think he will be hard pressed to get 60 catches and 750 yards. Anybody remember Peerless Price when he took big money to go to Atlanta and be their #1? Didn't work out so well for him because he no longer had the defense #2 corner on him. Eric Moulds always had the #1 CB on him, just like Evans did. Johnson is going to struggle this year.
Agreed! though I do like the throwbacks white with the red standing buffalo.
White is just, so, plain, blah. I like having color. I liked the red helmets but not the unis
The charging buffalo on white just doesn't do it for me, although I like the unis.
Really! So Fitz didn't prove one damn thing to you last year? I do not think he is the next coming or anything like that but I'm thinking average play from Fitz is still better than what Tebow can offer.
