From my perspective as a fan, I'm playing with house money. The Bills will be in Buffalo for the foreseeable future and the franchise is no longer the laughing stock of the NFL. So they aren't setting the world on fire yet. Playing relevant football in late December is a good friggin' start.

With running backs, I think it's safest to assume that any degradation in ability is the new normal. Players at that position tend to fall off cliffs.

I voted neither. Ray Rice averaged 3.1 yards per carry in 2013. You can get that production from a minimum-salary player, and without the media circus. As for Spiller, he has proven to me that he doesn't possess the vision to be a regular contributor. He's best off getting 8-10 touches per game and it's foolish to pay $4 million for that.

Definitely Eli, though I don't think either one is what this franchise needs right now. They are both incredibly turnover-prone, which I think would net us the same results as Orton's general mediocrity. Who we really needed was Alex Smith. As for Cutler, he is poison.

Honestly, if the Bills get to 10-6 with their remaining schedule and make the playoffs, they will have proven themselves SB contenders. GB, NE and Denver are the top 3 teams in the league, in some order.

The Rams (sort of the Bills West, with a dominant front 7 and questionable QB play) handled Peyton with aplomb a few weeks ago and won. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bills (in desperation mode) knock him to the turf a few times.

Well, we matched out last season's win total in 11 games and I've always been a proponent of continuity. We've gone from sad-sack to competitive during Marrone's tenure. That said, Mike Pettine and Jim Schwartz probably have more to do with this turnaround than Marrone. It makes me sad that we could be wasting an all-time great defensive line unit.

It looks like Baltimore has the easiest remaining schedule and San Diego has the toughest, so it's probably worth rooting for SD in their matchup next week.

I believe 10-6 will be enough, even disregarding tie breakers. Every year, people think that 11 wins will be necessary and it very rarely is. Saying 'Period' doesn't make it true.

No way. If they lose this week, they already have 4 losses and 5 very difficult matchups to go. I agree that they're a good team, but they've by no means separated themselves from the WC pack.

I think they'll whip the Dolphins again. They're looking like an above average team recently, but Ryan Tannehill has nightmares about our D-Line. The Chiefs game I am less optimistic about, because... 1) Their defense is as stifling as ours. 2) Alex Smith probably won't help us out with big mistakes like our last two opponents. 3) They have the best offensive player on the field. That said, we're at home off of a bye and the Ralph will be rocking. All combined, it feels like a coin flip game.
