Milano should have been benched
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an incredibly dumb thread. Milano had a bad game by his standards but he's a top-3 asset for our defense after Tre and Poyer. -
How Good or Bad was our Defense,Really?

I agree that the defense didn't exactly show clout but in the modern NFL if you hold a team to 24 points you'll usually win. Since others have already covered the negative, here were some big plays the defense did make... - Poyer made the play of the game waiting for Pascal to get up and then stripping the ball - Addison got penetration to turn 3rd and 1 into 4th and 4 - Edmunds had a couple nice PDs and generally had good run fills despite a couple missed tackles - Milano stuffed the 2 point conversion attempt - Zimmer read a screen perfectly and forced Rivers to spike it - Hyde with 3 PDs including batting down the Hail Mary and swatting away a potential TD to Hilton early in the game - Taron Johnson made Blankenship feel self-conscious about his glasses, forcing the missed FG -

Same. It's just that many of the great all-time RB seasons have been on teams that end up going 8-8 or worse. -

He had 1,623 yards from scrimmage and 14 TDs for us in 2016. Looking back I feel like I barely remember anything from that season. -

Dungy keeps repeating this thing about how Todd Bowles loves to stop the run on 1st down and then get after the QB. Is this not the goal of all NFL defenses in every game? -

Given that WFT won't pick until the 20's in the first round, Heinicke can actually play himself into a starting role here. -

Idiotic scheduling that we were at 1:00 and this was the primetime game. -
Wow. Is Russ allowed to like...steal his OL's golf clubs after this?
