  1. Robert Woods had a better career.
  2. I guess I'm in the minority here but this upcoming game doesn't make me even a little nervous in anticipation, probably because I'm very certain that as long as Josh is healthy we'll be back at this point pretty much annually. The Colts game made me nervous because I was afraid the streak of first round exits might continue to dog us but if we lose tomorrow I'll be a sad for about a half hour then move on to looking forward to next season.
  3. The notion that they could insert him as a starter in his rookie season, probably before he was ready, and then move on from him after they almost went to the playoffs 2 years ahead of schedule is ridiculous. Obviously he looked limited at times but if Flores had just kept him behind Fitz on the bench this conversation wouldn't be happening.
  4. To win the SB we likely have to get through the Ravens, Chiefs and then the Saints or Packers. Along with us, these are the top 5 teams in the league in some order. So no, I won't get mad or embarrassed about losing any permutation of those 3 games we have to win.
  5. Karma for some sort of moral failure I assume. I say we cut him before anyone discovers the skeletons.
  6. He's dangerous to the point where you have to concede he'll get his ground yards like other teams must concede that Josh will get his air yards. A key is, when he inevitably escapes, do you hold him to a 15 yard gain or is it a 50 yard TD. The game probably comes to down to red zone efficiency and whomever blinks first on a critical mistake. I think we have a slight advantage on both of those fronts.
  7. I'm sure the analytics say that it was the right call with something like a 55% or 60% edge. Here's why I think it was wrong - it was an aggressive call that didn't jibe with the rest of Reich's functionally passive strategy. The Colts' strategy was essentially "Possess the ball for 35-40 minutes, score the points we can, maintain a lead and force 1 or 2 critical mistakes." I mean they were literally having Rivers run the play clock down to 0 in the first half. I'd never seen anything like that. And the thing was, up to the point where Reich made that decision their plan was going perfectly. You can't say no to free points when that's your strategy and you have the lead. If they had gone with "Burn the ships and try to outscore them, the odds be damned" going for it obviously would have made sense.
  8. The roster is the roster. Those who think McBeane are the types to throw a big splashy wrench into the works and create a distraction, even if there's some theoretical on field advantage, need to pay more attention.
  9. I actually hadn't read your post but it looks like we're saying roughly the same thing. I still have nightmares of Chris Kelsay losing contain lol.
  10. Yeah, you can maybe find very limited (I'm talking 2 or 3 here) times where extra pressure makes sense but getting edge players up-field of Lamar is drinking poison.
  11. This is about when I would be starting to count exactly how many seconds are left in the game.
  12. I don't hate to say it. Imagine if the great football is happening perennially in Buffalo, Cleveland and KC while the big markets look on longingly.
  13. Right after Pittsburgh rested their starters the week before, essentially saying "You're not a threat". This is awesome.
  14. I know what you mean but I'm not worried. That's a concern for the teams who pay big money to vaguely top-10ish QBs. For elite QBs the Super Bowl window is the length of their career.
  15. Ravens should be more afraid of the Bills than vice versa.
  16. 5 years from now Josh will still just be 29 years old.
  17. Roethlisberger still moves around pretty well for a 270 pound pile of sandwiches held together with string.
  18. I think it was you declaring game over in favor of the Colts while we still had the lead, right?
  19. This game is a nightmare for the Ravens who may have to travel to Buffalo and face Josh Allen.
  20. I bet the Bears they wish they had a player on their roster who had led a miraculous Super Bowl run.
  21. This is more worth rooting for than anything happening in the game. Best of luck.
