MNF - Fish at Saints Game Thread
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
The year is 2021 and one of the most crucial aspects of the product of a multibillion dollar industry still relies on old men trying to guess the precise location of a ball when a player's knee hits the ground. -

They're perfectly aware that Tua is more likely to commit a turnover trying to convert a 3rd and 12 than the Saints are to score on a drive from their own territory. -

Good news, this late season run is buying us another 2 seasons of matchups versus Tua. -
I was being hyperbolic but you're probably right. Still, the great QBs get a new OC many times in their career because they have a tendency of winning HC jobs for their coordinators.

Even though we're more bearish on him than last season, I think this is the year Daboll gets swooped up. A huge thing that GMs should be paying attention to is the close bond that he's developed with JA. They should want that for their young or rookie QB. And at this point Josh's OC could be McDermott wearing a sock puppet on his hand. The offense is Josh's. Keeping Frazier for continuity would be great.

Those copious penalties last week aside, I think we've seen a Spencer Brown renaissance to the physicality of the OL. Guys finishing blocks with ferocity, getting to the second level, pushing the pile. I think my heart grew three sizes watching the replay of Dion Dawkins pancaking Judon then sprinting 20 yards to flatten JC Jackson so that Diggs could get another 5 yards.

Any given Sunday and all that. But let's just win our games and let the Pats jockey for 5th, 6th or 7th. -
It's almost as if all the stuff about the refs rigging games is made up and a product of selection bias.

This is what they are saying in New England Land

Yep. If Josh's receivers had helped him at all during the wind game, the narrative would be that he was playing MVP ball and not that Belichick was a genius for refusing to throw. We'd also be looking at 2 consecutive seasons without a division loss. -
He should probably sit against the Jets if we've clinched, but you may have to staple him to the bench because it's not in his nature.

We're here talking about whether a fading Matt Ryan can find something when the real dynamic is that the Falcons have a bottom-5 defense and Josh has found his swagger. Expect something like a -13 line and expect the Bills to cover.
-
I think for there to be a rivalry, it takes multiple close meaningful games over a short span with a multiplier for playoff games. If we keep being locked into division races it will become one. Maybe by the end of Sunday's game it will feel more like one. Right now I'd say that I associate our biggest rival as the Chiefs and the Pats' as the Ravens.

1) Two 7-7 teams is better than one 8-6 team, given that 10-7 is our most likely outcome. 2) The Raiders are pretty bad
-
With our tiebreaker troubles, any wildcard contender picking up a 7th loss there helps.

13 out of 16 AFC teams are at .500 or better. What is this year?

While it doesn't have quite the same ring, "Falconsy" is the worst thing to be this last decade.

There's no huge reason to be worried about the results here. If the Browns actually make the playoffs it will almost have to involve knocking out the Bengals in the process in week 18.

Yep. "The roulette wheel can't come up black AGAIN, right?"
