  1. I think it would be a pretty big one. Miami just had the ultimate letdown after a big build up and the Pats have a lot to play for. Not saying it can't happen but this is more of an 80/20 matchup than a 60/40 one in my opinion.
  2. I'll get used to it but given what I'm used to I just feel like we went 10-6 this year.
  3. Rule #1 of being a GM in a salary cap league is don't spend capital on productivity that you already have in reserve. Beane is a smart guy and knows that Gabe Davis on his rookie deal will be a 1,000 yard receiver next year.
  4. Great topic. Personally, for me anyway, I'd like it if the Bills won the Super Bowl. There, I said it.
  5. Edifying to hear him say that he thinks Josh' leadership has not only grown this season, but specifically in the second half. I wonder if there was something of a "Come to Jesus" moment in the Bills locker room after the bad Colts loss.
  6. "Build a perfectly spherical frictionless stadium inside a vacuum."
  7. Easily explained - week 18 is an abomination.
  8. Much like in baseball where you'll start seeing a bunch of 400 home run hitters denied Cooperstown because we now realize you can be a power hitter and average at everything else, I think Matt Ryan will be the first QB with what used to be considered epic volume stats not make Canton. Really really good career, a career to be proud of, but he doesn't pass the sniff test despite the stats.
  9. Fair enough, but which AFC team has played a clean season without a weird upset loss or two? Someone from this conference is making the SB and they all have head scratchers this year.
  10. Support as in spending actual money and time? No. Support as in saying "Oh, cool" if it happens? No.
  11. I've always enjoyed these. Thanks very much to you and Bill. If you do feel like stepping away I'd humbly volunteer to take up the mantle as I'm a writer and take notes on everything by my nature. Just let me know.
  12. That's just the NFL playoffs though. Single elimination is just a different beast.
  13. I feel more confident than last season. This is the exact same core of young players who got to the AFCCG last year and now they have that playoff experience under their belts and are hungry to get further. I believe the second half of that Tampa game was a major inflection point where the team became convinced that they could physically hang with anyone. I also think that, generally speaking, we fans overreact to something like having a 10-6 record vs a 13-3 record when the peripheral statistics indicate that we're stronger than last season and we've just gotten some negative variance in the closer games.
  14. It's kind of a tough one. Unlike RBs, receivers aren't virtually guaranteed to hit a wall around age 30 in the same way but the majority of them do slow down. I say the most important factor here, though, is that Josh and Stefon are so closely bonded that you're going to disrupt chemistry by not bringing him back. I'm fine with a 33 year old Diggs getting like 900 yards and 6-8 TDs for a lot of money.
  15. Also, the Bills have a point differential of +177 and the Jets' is -177.
  16. As long as they aren't facing the Bills I'll always root for the Bengals to win that division after what happened in 2017. It was that big of a deal.
  17. They asked Josh about this in the press conference and they mentioned it was the first time since 2004. Having said that I agree with what Josh said that it's a lot cooler when there aren't 3 turnovers involved.
  18. Everyone always said Andy Reid was a good coach who would never get over the hump. Now that he has, even though it took decades, he's universally regarded as great. In other words, nothing that happens in McDermott's 4th playoff venture will tell us that he's not a great HC.
  19. St Doug will be back in like 20 years for his 7th or 8th miracle.
  20. Interesting comparison. Brad Smith used to frustrate me but mostly because he was on an awful Bills team that was forced to get him more involved than he should have been. Put Brad Smith on a really good team and he would have been a weapon.
  21. Quietly the Dolphins are tied for being the most eliminated team in the NFL this year.
