  1. I've always enjoyed these. Thanks very much to you and Bill. If you do feel like stepping away I'd humbly volunteer to take up the mantle as I'm a writer and take notes on everything by my nature. Just let me know.
  2. That's just the NFL playoffs though. Single elimination is just a different beast.
  3. I feel more confident than last season. This is the exact same core of young players who got to the AFCCG last year and now they have that playoff experience under their belts and are hungry to get further. I believe the second half of that Tampa game was a major inflection point where the team became convinced that they could physically hang with anyone. I also think that, generally speaking, we fans overreact to something like having a 10-6 record vs a 13-3 record when the peripheral statistics indicate that we're stronger than last season and we've just gotten some negative variance in the closer games.
  4. It's kind of a tough one. Unlike RBs, receivers aren't virtually guaranteed to hit a wall around age 30 in the same way but the majority of them do slow down. I say the most important factor here, though, is that Josh and Stefon are so closely bonded that you're going to disrupt chemistry by not bringing him back. I'm fine with a 33 year old Diggs getting like 900 yards and 6-8 TDs for a lot of money.
  5. Also, the Bills have a point differential of +177 and the Jets' is -177.
  6. As long as they aren't facing the Bills I'll always root for the Bengals to win that division after what happened in 2017. It was that big of a deal.
  7. They asked Josh about this in the press conference and they mentioned it was the first time since 2004. Having said that I agree with what Josh said that it's a lot cooler when there aren't 3 turnovers involved.
  8. Everyone always said Andy Reid was a good coach who would never get over the hump. Now that he has, even though it took decades, he's universally regarded as great. In other words, nothing that happens in McDermott's 4th playoff venture will tell us that he's not a great HC.
  9. St Doug will be back in like 20 years for his 7th or 8th miracle.
  10. Interesting comparison. Brad Smith used to frustrate me but mostly because he was on an awful Bills team that was forced to get him more involved than he should have been. Put Brad Smith on a really good team and he would have been a weapon.
  11. Quietly the Dolphins are tied for being the most eliminated team in the NFL this year.
  12. I would 100% support Beane signing Patterson as a surehanded returner, gadget player, emergency WR/RB and overall character guy.
  13. I think the tricky thing about fame and fortune is that for every one person who genuinely wants to help you there are 20 content to be in your posse, inflate your ego, soak up the residue of the women, booze and drugs.
  14. He truly is the best and luckiest QB ever. People have long quibbled over this as if it's one or the other but it's both.
  15. Another game with no punts. Matt Haack has the easiest job in football recently. That practice net is getting a lot of play though.
  16. Take all the narcissistic behavior that we know about and understand that it's only the tip of the iceberg. At this point I mostly hope that no innocents end up getting mortally caught up in this guy's self destruction.
  17. Doesn't really matter to me. We need to beat 4 teams to win the SB and they'll likely get harder with each matchup anyway. I think playing a rubber match against the Patriots is the most entertaining scenario though.
  18. I'm fine with the current system where the most talented players go to Jacksonville and we don't have to worry about them improving.
  19. In all probability McDermott will surpass .600 next season and not look back. We have a .625 winning percentage this season and the 10-6 record is generally considered to be a disappointment.
  20. Which was always ridiculous because going 9-7 that first season was a borderline miracle.
  21. Including the playoffs Sean McDermott has a record of 50-35 (.588) with the Bills, a span that included two seasons during which we were very much in a rebuild. Here's to the next 50 wins, especially if the next 5 happen this season.
  22. Josh today was like a pitcher who discovers he has no command over his fastball and gives up a few runs in the first inning, so he switches to his breaking stuff and grinds out 6 tough innings. He just wouldn't be denied running today.
