  1. By the way, we have a live stream if anybody's interested http://wvbr.com:9010/index.php?page=home the links in the upper left of the screen...not to be pushy, but we're encouraged to advertise the station and the website anywhere and everywhere Also, I co host a couple sports talk shows (Saturday 8-9 AM and Sunday 7-8 PM) where theres a good deal of Bills talk if anybodys interested in something other than Schopp and the Bulldog haha. Except of course I don't do the Sunday show when the Bills have late afternoon games
  2. Thanks for all the input, everybody...unfortunately the station is an all rock format, so no techno Another one I'd like to add is anything by Andrew W.K, it's perfect intimidation music...hes got a song called Ready To Die that pumps me up
  3. Everybody makes a fuss because John Corto when to OP, but nobody cares about this? I'm a little biased because I'm from the region (Lancaster) but I say good for them! Do WNY proud!
  4. I can't think of two less similar running backs than xavier omon and ahmad bradshaw. In any case, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Lynch and Jackson are rolling along just fine for the moment. Besides, Omon has been inactive thus far I believe along with most of our rookies.
  5. Another good one I forgot to mention is Holiday in Cambodia by Dead Kennedys.
  6. Gotta agree on the Steely Dan, good stuff And of course, Shout is gonna be at #1...just can't decide if I'll play the real version or the Bills version
  7. By the way, there's a point to this thread. I'm DJing tomorrow from 7-11 on WVBR 93.5 Ithaca, and at 10 o clock we do a thing called the Top 10 at 10 where it's an hour of songs about a specific theme. This week I'm doing the Top 10 Songs That Pump You Up For The Bills, and I was hoping for some input
  8. Just curious, what music does everybody play to get themselves (more) pumped up on Sunday mornings before the Bills are on? Saturday night, I sleep in my Poz jersey following a Nittany Lions win, get up on Sunday morning and listen to AC/DC's Thunderstruck and Guns N Roses' Welcome to the Jungle on repeat.
  9. Poz definitely deserves the nod at this point. His statistics aren't exactly ridiculous (26 tackles, 0 sacks, 1 fumble recovery), but anybody who's been watching knows what a good field general he is and how many incomplete passes he's caused both with his pass rushing and coverage skills.
  10. I've gotta go with the G-Men. We tend to hear a lot about the Giants being overrated, but when you're the Superbowl champ, somebody has to beat you for me to consider you overrated, that's just the way it works.
  11. Scribo, you are absolutely 100% right, and for two reasons. 1. Somebody could get seriously hurt. The NFL didn't ban horse collars because it causes discomfort for the players, they banned horse collars because it's been proven that they can cause severely broken collar bones and even spinal cord injuries if performed a certain way. To me, it is ridiculous that the NFHS hasn't put a stop to horse collar tackles. It's bad enough that a 30 year old professional who gets paid millions has to deal with horse collars. Its 100 times worse that adolescents with their whole lives ahead of them who just want to play some ball have to run the risk of being tackled that way. 2. It just isn't the right way to tackle. Pop Warner football and high school football are supposed to prepare kids for the college game and (in some cases) the professional leagues. One of the biggest trends I've noticed in defenses over the recent past is the inability to perform good, solid, fundamental, wrap-em-up-bring-em-down tackles. Kids want to perform horse collars because they see their heroes doing that kind of thing on SportsCenter and feel like copying them. They should be learning the correct way to tackle. Embrace the ball carrier and throw him to the ground when he's within your reach. Push him out of bounds or trip him up by the lower body if he's gotten past you. None of this horse collar stuff. Unfortunately, a high school or Pop Warner player is probably going to get seriously hurt (somebody probably already has) before we see a rule change. It's really a shame.
  12. You're trying to talk about the 5 most important offensive positions and you don't include the offensive tackle on the QB's blindside? Peters' success this season will be waaay more important than Fred Jackson's.
  13. Blake Costanzo = new Josh Stamer
  14. Unfortunately, I think Jabari will be too expensive to keep. Even though most casual fans haven't heard of him around the league, you can bet your bottom dollar that scouts and GM's have. However, we do have Youboty, McKelvin, and Reggie Corner (looked real good in preseason) waiting in the wings, so we shouldn't be in too much trouble.
  15. I think they're like the Vikings, a good QB away from being a contender, but Flacco has to mature.
  16. Mark McGwire has never tested positive for illegal steroid use and he was not included in the Mitchell Report. All we have to go on is the testimony of that scumbag Canseco. Do I think McGwire juiced? Yes. But still, innocent til proven guilty. He should be in the Hall of Fame.
  17. This is just insane, and pathetic. Let's say we were going to finish 11-5. But then we intentionally lose to the Cardinals and end up finishing 10-6. This idiot is saying 10-6 is better than 11-5. I think his whole argument rests on the theory that we're destined to lose a certain amount of games, and that it's better to lose them to NFC teams than AFC teams. As if we're going to lose to the Jets because we didn't lose to the Cards. This is so stupid.
  18. Bulluck so far has just 16 tackles, so it might be a bit of a down year so far, but if you look at the past few years he has been rather underrated and incredibly good. (I think the qualities of a linebacker are difficult to quantify with statistics) And you may have a point with Asomugha, but metrics point to Cromartie actually not being that good when you take away the interceptions. He allows much higher than the league average in terms of yards given up on balls thrown toward his receiver. Perhaps one reason he gets so many INT's is that offensive coordinators like to pick on him in the passing game. I mean, do you remember just how awful he was trying to contain Brandon Marshall in week 2? If Cromartie's a top flight CB, he should be able to hold a top flight WR in check more than that. Just a thought. Finnegan, on the other hand, is an incredible coverage corner on top of the INTs he's been getting this season.
  19. The Titans defense is superior to ours, and every other team's, IMO. I think they have the best DT (Haynesworth), the best LB (Bulluck) and the best CB (Cortland Finnegan) in the game. They can kill you on all levels of defense, and people tend to forget that D is half the game, which explains why Dallas, San Diego, and Denver seem to be the sexy Superbowl picks right now.
  20. Not only was it a clean hit, I believe McKelvin may have been going for the ball. He didn't seem at all surprised when it popped out, and would've gotten good return yardage if the play wasn't whistled.
  21. I forgot to mention, Greer has only 10 tackles (7 solo, 3 assist) this season. That's a good thing. It means the receiver he's covering rarely ends up with the ball in his hands.
  22. It's really awesome how you think you can assess the results of a draft after 4 games. Are you claiming that you have documentable proof that Leodis will be an inferior cover corner in the long run? Who are you to say that Leodis won't have developed into a dominant cornerback 2 years from now? They say it takes 2 seasons minimum to truly analyze a draft (case in point, Super Mario being a better pick than Bush). And besides, Porter would not be the best corner on the Bills. Jabari Greer has that title in my opinion (and no, not just because of that pick six yesterday). He's the best coverage corner I've seen on the Bills in a long while. He's on the short side, but you never see him blow his assignment and he gets a load of passes deflected even if he doesn't intercept many jump balls because of his height.
  23. Haha yea, it's spelled Gob, but you were close enough...you win the prize. The prize is the Bills will win today.
  24. I think what pisses me off the most about immons is how, after 3 Superbowls, 2 World Series, and 1 NBA Championship in the past decade alone, he still tries to sell himself as the poor distraught victim when Brady goes down for the season. He spent an entire article sobbing and answering emails of fellow spoiled Boston fans sobbing about Brady getting injured. The whole "woe is me, I'm a Boston sports fan" card went out the window in 2004, and guys like Simmons can't appreciate all the success their teams have had recently because part of them is desperate to get that loser identity back. It's just very pathetic how Simmons still manages to find things to whine about while cities like Buffalo, Seattle, Minneapolis, Cleveland, etc. actually suffer from sports misery.
  25. Steve Holt! 4 more years! (props to anybody who understands the reference)
