Well I think he got some good national exposure against Ball State on ESPN2. He didn't take the field all that often because of the fumble recovery TDs the Bulls had, but he tossed 3 good TDs to Naaman Roosevelt. He can definitely solidify a reputation by performing well in Toronto, and then who knows? With a good combine, I could definitely see round 3.

Very true. And Byron Leftwich. He isn't a starter, but he showed some signs of being back to form when Roethlisberger went down earlier this year. I could see him starting somewhere next year.

Yeah, I don't think OBD has any delusions of resigning Greer, that's why we drafted the way we did. Personally, I'd start McKelvin because a CB coming back from injury is always a scary thing to put in your starting lineup (think McGee against Ginn). On top of that, he would most likely be matched up against Eddie Royal, one of the speedier guys out there, as McGee will be matched up against the bigger threat Marshall. If Greer has lost half a step due to this injury, I do not want him on Royal.

That said, I'd hate to see the Bills draft him. It would put way too much pressure on Trent. We would be calling for Willy to start the first time that Trent threw a pick or fumbled the ball.

How in the world do you consider these horrible choices? Billick is a Super Bowl winning head coach and Nolan mightve sucked at being a HC, but how can you say you wouldn't want him as the DC? That's what vaulted him into the head coaching world in the first place.

Here's what I wonder. When an offensive or defensive coordinator is responsible for a consistently good unit (think Steve Spagnuolo and Jason Garrett), they pretty much instantly get on the hook for a fat contract as a head coach. But April has put out a consistently good product since he became our ST coach, and you don't even hear a whisper about a HC job for the guy. Yes, I realize that offensive and defensive prowess are higher priorities for any team, but April has been around football for a very long time, he has an intimate knowledge of the personnel on our team, you can tell that he has the respect and admiration of all the special teamers (you can just tell how excited they are to play their positions, even though it doesn't come with the fanfare of an offensive or defensive starter). So yeah, I say give the guy a chance before another team wises up to the idea and steals him out from under us.

Ummm, no matter how much money we came up with, we don't work for the Bills and we don't have the power to hire a coach. If I was a billionaire, do you think I could just call up Bill Cowher and say "I'm going over the head of the front office, you're hired for 10 million a year"? Of course not. How, in your mind, would this work?

I've wondered about this myself. After all, I doubt there's something different about a black man's physique that makes him more suited for running back than a white person. Personally, I think you can take it back to the high school level. Take two players, one white and one black, with the exact same skill sets. The black player is turned into a running back. The white player is turned into a safety, or told to pack on a few pounds and become a fullback or tight end. I don't know where this comes from, but it's the best explanation I can come up with. It seems as if the only way a white player can become a starting RB is to hang back at FB and wait for guys to get injured. Sam McGuffie, a freshman RB from Michigan, might be the next legitimate white speed rusher.

The NFL wouldn't have to say anything. Refs make mistakes. His came at a more crucial time and was more obvious than most mistakes. If, by chance, his mistake makes a difference in the playoff scenarios, then that's an unfortunate coincidence, nothing more.

Why is it that white players are only compared to white players and black players are only compared to black players?

He's definitely got the physical skill set to play in the NFL. Of course, cynics would point out the relatively low level of competition he faced in the MAC, but Joe Flacco isn't faring nearly as poorly as many thought, so who knows?

The sad thing is, that's true of almost every single "journalist" working for ESPN. It's all about speculation and sensationalism. Just yesterday, they reported on the front page of espn.com that Rafael Furcal had signed for 4 years and 40 millions dollars with the Braves. Oops, they were wrong. He signed for 3 years and 30 million with the Dodgers. But it doesn't matter if they're wrong, because they pretty much represent a monopoly in the sports journalism world.

I love how people can actually turn a high completion percentage into a negative. This board is getting ridiculous.

In either case, the guy did the right thing here. If you've got peoples' lives in your hands and you don't feel confident, it's best to not go for it. If anything, it's the airline's fault for not reading the weather report and sending the guy up in the first place.
