  1. The Sabres this year tend to play down to (or up to) the level of their opponent. Whether we're facing a very good opponent or a very bad opponent, the results seem to be a game decided by one goal. I'd love to see us really stick it to Tampa Bay tomorrow. Beat em 6-1 like we used to a couple years ago.
  2. I know the Dolphins are the feel good story and all, but I just can't make myself favor them over the Pats or Jets. It's probably cuz of my dad hating them so much, but the Phins will always be my least favorite team. That said, I'm also rooting for the Colts and Ravens to make the playoffs. I've always like Peyton and I think this Ravens squad is eerily similar to the Superbowl team they built back in 2000. They are 9-4 because of some early growing pains with Flacco, but he is better than Dilfer and they will be a scary playoff team.
  3. What? Did we seriously need another thread telling us to fire Jauron and hire Schottenheimer or Cowher? These boards are a big broken record.
  4. That's what we're told, but frankly I never see it happening. When he catches a pass, he sorta runs around like a chicken with its head cut off for a few seconds and then gets gang tackled, without gaining any YAC. It's so frustrating to watch him juke around for the home run play and gain nothing instead of diving forward a couple yards and getting more first downs. To me, he is simply a below average receiver, plain and simple. I'm just hoping we trade him and milk a 3rd rounder out of somebody.
  5. Thanks for the unique topic. I was under the impression that everybody on these boards was in love with Jauron and company.
  6. The only stat that counts is points. Our D is good at limiting points, as we have a tendency to tighten up in the red zone. Our D isn't spectacular but it's certainly been playing well enough that we would be 8-5 at the least with a semi-competent offense.
  7. What is that even supposed to mean? "Star on our team that would be a star on another". Does that include the Lions, Bengals, Chiefs, Raiders, Seahawks, and Rams? Because I'm sure they'd be happy to take a lot of our best players off our hands. Seriously, that is such a vague question, how are we supposed to respond?
  8. Right on, brother. I get frustrated during games like everybody else. But for those who are still bitching and whining the day AFTER the game? (and who will continue to do so into tuesday, wednesday, thursday, etc...), get an effing grip. You treat Wilson, Jauron, JP, and the gang as if they've personally sleighted you. As if they've reneged on a sacred responsibility to make you happy every Sunday. Guess what, it's a game that we like to watch. The players are in it for themselves, and we are along for the ride. Don't take it so personally. If you're one of those people who says "well I've been a fan for 43 years and I deserve a Superbowl", you don't deserve anything. You watch a football game once a week for a 4 month period and you deserve something? Where does this sense of entitlement come from? I watch the Bills because I love Buffalo, I love sports (the athleticism, the competition, the statistics, everything really), but I'm aware that I don't deserve anything.
  9. Laughter's the best medicine in most cases, but a good dose of respect is what the doctor ordered today.
  10. Yeah! Death to Phillip Michael Thomas! Wait.....who? Is he related to Mark David Chapman?
  11. Oh poor Braves fans! I feel so bad for you guys and your decade and a half of dominance in the NL East. A friend of mine here in Ithaca is from Atlanta, and he's starting to cop the same attitude about the Braves, bitching at every chance he gets. Why do fans from winning teams who have one bad season get to act like this?
  12. The Vikings have the best backfield in football. The Fins are somewhere in the top 10, but it's a difficult thing to rank. However, the combo of Peterson and Taylor has to be #1. I'd put the Giants at #2, but only because I think their efficiency has more to do with the O-line than the actual runners. Where do you come up with the Fins having hte #1 backfield?
  13. I'm not trying to be smug, but they are nowhere CLOSE to being even halfway decent. They have one good wide receiver, and then every single other facet of the team is simply awful. Yes, Millen is gone, but the damage he caused will take years upon years upon years to fix.
  14. Again, best completion percentage in NFL history. He has no arm, but he makes it work. I respect the man, and so do his teammates. They refer to him as "Coach Pennington".
  15. You really expected ND to not get a bowl bid when they're bowl eligible? It's one of the most marketable teams out there.
  16. I heard from a friend that the stand selling hats outside the Rogers Centre had a selection of cowboys, steelers, patriots, jets, giants, but no bills.
  17. And you lose all credibility when you suggest that a trusted and venerable sports journalist "doesn't get it". It's good to know that you lose all respect for somebody when they don't share your opinion. But yeah, you're more knowledgeable than a football journalist.
  18. I wouldn't really be a "fan" of any team, but I think I'd be partial to the Browns and Steelers. Gotta keep reppin' the rust belt.
