  1. You know how on boxes of pasta, each different kind of pasta has a number next to it? Like, Spaghetti 6, or Linguine 17, or Rotini 24, etc....What's the deal with that?
  2. There are a few factors on why Cornell might get stuck with a 15 this year (not that it really even matters haha)... 1. The Ivy League's conference RPI is pretty bad this year 2. Cornell had a bunch of opportunities for statement wins and blew them all...We had halftime leads over Minnesota, Indiana, Syracuse, and St. Joseph's and blew them all in the second half 3. The biggest win this year (in terms of RPI) was against La Salle 4. I suspect that we were only given the 14 seed last year BECAUSE we were undefeated in conference. It will be a very interesting selection Sunday.
  3. Gotta say, that is the most interestingly crafted sentence I've ever read.
  4. I'm just hoping Cornell somehow manages to pull a 14 seed. Teams like Morehead State upsetting the OVC help, but the Red were only 11-3 in conference play this year. Last year, we were 14-0 and got a 14 seed.
  5. No, Tenn Martin and Austin Peay are the Ohio Valley Conference teams that got upset by Morehead State. East Tennessee State is in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
  6. Right on, Gringo! These guys get paid millions of dollars with all other kinds of perks, so why do they have to deal with accidentally coming in contact with sulfuric acid after a tiring game? Dammit, it doesn't make sense!
  7. YEEEAAAAA GO VIKINGS!!!!!! BEAT EM UP BEAT EM UP VIKINGS WOOOOOOOO (I'm not really a vikings fan, but I didn't want you to feel alone)
  8. Haha all those guys busted except for Underwood. He just went bat sh*t crazy.
  9. Shane Falco never won a championship...those bastards reinstated Eddie Martel as the quarterback before he ever got the chance.
  10. I'm only allowed to say positive things about players that I think the Bills should seek to sign/trade for?
  11. No I want us to pick up a pass rusher in the draft (I like Orakpo if he falls to us) and then have Denney and Kelsay fight it out to be the first DE off the bench, with Schobel as the other starter. Right now, we should use our resources to pick up a guard.
  12. When did I ever say it was a good idea? You said he couldn't even start for Detroit (which I took to mean that you think he's about as bad as they come) and I just pointed out that getting about 1 sack every 2 games isn't half bad.
  13. Uhh, 5 sacks in 11 games is a lot better than anything we had last season.
  14. How is there supposed to be a market for a new league in this economy? There have got to be tons of people reconsidering their season tickets across the NFL, so where is the interest to buy up for this UFL?
  15. He's a buddhist, why wouldn't he? It's a noble message even if you disagree with it...is it so wrong to have a calm voice among so many other revenge-oriented voices?
  16. Careful, buddy, my girlfriend's on that team. And she doesn't do any plodding. Though she does tend to nag...
  17. Thanks a lot, that is a cool story. I'm a big Steve Levy fan. The ladies' bball games are on WVBR which is a student/commercial station, so those are on actual airwaves. We did all 26 of their games this year, and I picked up SO much experience from doing an entire season instead of just a home game here or there. I also broadcast Cornell baseball games, but those are just for the Cornell athletics website. I'd love to try my hand at hockey, but a local ESPN affiliate has the rights to men's basketball and hockey so I'm kinda screwed there. I could try women's hockey, but I'm fine with my niche right now.
  18. Wow I'm embarrassed. I've had a complete disjoint from hockey this year, because I'm the play by play commentator for Cornell women's basketball. Since they both generally play on Friday and Saturday at 7 o clock, I haven't gotten the chance to physically follow the hockey team, basically I've been relegated to looking at box scores. I know that the ECAC semifinals and championship game are hosted in Albany over our spring break and I guess I just got my timeline messed up. To be honest, basketball has actually become more of a buzz around here. So a big old from me. I guess I've lost all rights to a Lynah salute.
  19. Yeah, RPI sucks this year though, I'm not too worried. The one thing that concerns me is that the ECAC tourney is in Albany, which essentially makes it a home game for RPI.
  20. Ok yes, against dominant physical teams their only chance is outside shooting. If that's the point you were trying to make all along, sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought you were trying to say that they used 3-point shooting as a crutch all year.
  21. Ok, they shot poorly from outside when they lost. That's true of most teams that lose. If you want to prove that they "live and die" by the 3-pointer, you'd have to prove that they are a good 3-point shooting team when they win...something they are most certainly not. Again, their 3-point percentage on the season is just 34% (the top teams in the country hover around 42%). The part that I bolded is just ridiculous. That's like saying "I know they don't hit a lot of home runs, but it is still the most pivotal part of their game considering how few bases they steal." 3-pointers and posting up...those are the only facets of a basketball game? I'd argue the most pivotal part of their game is their defense, something which Henderson tends to struggle with more than the other guys. Henderson averages 5.0 rebounds, while Singler averages 7.7 and they score almost exactly the same amount of points. And of course Henderson is the guy they give it to in crunch time, I already admitted that he's good at taking the ball to the rim, and that's what you look for to either score or draw a foul.
  22. WE'RE GONNA BEAT THE HELL OUTTA YOU, ROUGH EM UP, F*CK EM UP GO CU!!!!! LET'S GO RED! BRACKET BUSTERS!
  23. Yes, I've watched plenty of Duke basketball this year. Maybe Henderson can jump higher than Singler and take the ball to the rim better, but Singler is simply a more polished basketball player. Henderson has a few moments each game that make you slap your forehead and say "what was he thinking?". Singler is versatile as a forward who has a good shot from the outside and he is far and away the most talented rebounder on the team, which has more than a little bit to do with the level of tenacity he plays with. Why do you think Henderson is better? And I should be the one asking if you've even watched a Duke game, as you're the one who made the ridiculous assertion that they depend on the 3 ball to win.
  24. Since when are Scheyer, Singler and Paulus not gifted athletes? Ok, they aren't as gifted as the likes of Hansbrough and Lawson, but you can't JUST compare them to UNC....and I really hope you aren't saying those things because those 3 players are white and Henderson is black. Singler is miles ahead of Henderson IMO. And by the way, Duke doesn't take that many 3-pointers. They rank 66th in the country in 3-pointers attempted and only shoot at a clip of 33.9%. So if they rely so much on the 3-pointer, then why are they 25-6? And no, I am not a Duke fan but you made an unfair characterization of their team. There is plenty of physical talent there.
