I used to watch those shows a lot more than I do now. I got tired of hearing the same old crap over and over again. But I think most people would be lying if they said they weren't interested in what the talking heads are saying about the signing.
Well, he went to school in Binghamton's journalism school. I suppose that's not a Buffalo connection, but he's been kind to the Bills when they were on MNF. Honestly, when I wrote my original comment I got his back story mixed up with Jaworski's.
Unfortunately, you're probably right. I think the PTI guys will be kind, Kornheiser having the Buffalo connection. Jim Rome will insult us and the Around the Horn guys will be tool douches as always.
Defenses decide who the number 1 and number 2 wide receivers are. If you're facing the Raiders and Nnamdi is defending a particular guy all game, he's your number 1 wide receiver.
That's the beautiful thing about the signing...every single offensive skill player benefits from this. Trent has a brand new shiny receiving weapon and won't require as much time in the pocket. Evans won't have to worry about double teams anymore. Reed will largely be covered by outside linebackers and strong safeties all year. Lynch/Jackson won't have to deal with any more than 7 in the box. Whatever tight end is starting for us will have tons of open space to deal with.
Reed isn't as fast or dodgy as Welker, but on a relative scale it will be a fair comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if Reed sits on 800 yards and 4 touchdowns this year.
Michael Vick tortured, starved, then murdered dogs for sport. Terrell Owens has emotional issues and is prone to creating lockerroom disturbances. Yeah, TO is worse...
Or, or, or....forgive me for coming off as a crazy conspiracy theorist...they MIGHT be trying to improve their chances at winning the Superbowl. I know it sounds insane, but my gut tells me that winning games was the motivation behind the signing.
