  1. Normally I'd agree, but the 3-pointer has been their offense M-O all season long and it has gotten them to within one game of the NBA Finals. It's hard to say they rely too heavily on the three ball, when it has brought them so far.
  2. I love it when people try to use words above their vocabulary level, and then mistakenly reveal that they clearly don't know how to spell said word. Sorry for being a dick, but it just tickles me.
  3. Hey, it's not as if the White Stripes and Raconteurs are dead or anything like that. The White Stripes released Icky Thump in 2007 and have another one coming out later in 2009. The Raconteurs pushed out Consolers of the Lonely just last year. He's been overlapping the two bands and he's clearly capable of adding a third...why shouldn't he? If you like Jack but don't want to listen to The Dead Weather, pop in one of his other albums, I don't see the cause for displeasure here. Besides, don't you get the feeling that The Dead Weather is just a side project that will last a couple of years? It's a supergroup amalgam, an experiment consisting of 4 members that all have allegiances to other bands. Not generally the kind of thing that lasts, unless they hit it huge. The point is, he's not abandoning The White Stripes if that's your concern. And I wasn't trying to equate him with Clapton, that'd be ridiculous. My point was that Clapton dabbled in a myriad of other groups and never lost his essential sound. Neither will Jack.
  4. Yeah, just like Eric Clapton should have stuck with one thing, right? Great musicians transcend the bands that they play in.
  5. By the way, I echo your sentiments about Jack. In a music industry currently saturated with Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montanas, and Ashley Tisdales, it's comforting to know that there are still legit rockers out there.
  6. Jack White's my hero. I haven't heard any Dead Weather yet, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. Not that this is even close to his best work, but I've been addicted to this lately...
  7. They can shoot the next remake of The Longest Yard in Buffalo!
  8. Constantly in trouble with the law, will probably be permanently ousted from the league on his next offense, lazy, apathetic, bad hands, hasn't lived up to even 20% of his upside after 5 years... What could possibly go wrong?
  9. Hmmm this is actually a very interesting question...Was Maybin or Oher the better pick? Well let's look at the evidence. Maybin has been very strong. He struggled during his rookie season, but has been steadily improving and was even elected as a reserve to the pro bowl the past 2 seasons after registering 9.5 and 11.5 sacks, respectively. He's quickly emerged as a top 5 defensive end in the game. Oher, on the other hand, has also been successful but more quietly so. After defeating some personal demons, he now anchorms one of the most efficient offensive lines in the game and has actually become a leader in the lockerroom. Though his successes have not yet been recognized by a pro bowl bid, those who study football metrics say he is one of the best and improving. Oher would have been asset to Buffalo for sure, but it's hard to look back in anger when we got Maybin out of it. I'll say Maybin was the better pick. Wait a second...it isn't 2013 yet? Why are we judging the 2009 draft?
  10. Agreed on Maroney and Taylor, but c'mon...Brady is still arguably the best QB in football and he's still in the prime of his career. Until he actually shows rust, I think you have to pencil him in as a force to be reckoned with. Now I'll say eleven hail mary's for complimenting the Pats*.
  11. I assume you inherited the money. Actually I assume you're lying. In either case, I refuse to believe a man of your diminutive mental stature earned himself millions of dollars.
  12. I realize that, KO. I just tire of the "What would the founding fathers think?" argument. They weren't deities.
  13. Yeah, those slave owning founding fathers NEVER would have stood for racial preference like this.
  14. How is it not good? There are probably about 100 middle linebackers in the NFL and he's ranked 19th.
  15. I don't know how I became Crayonz' favorite target, but I consider it an honor.
  16. Skooby, nobody knows the answer to that question. And everybody's getting tired of your act.
  17. I agree 100% that this private institution has the right to stop providing funding to a student group. Having said that, why do you say "Good for them."? This move seems awfully petty. Institutions of higher learning should embrace all different viewpoints, and I don't see the logic in this unless the students in question were causing trouble of some sort (which it doesn't sound like they were). And by the way, I'm not a liberal and I'm not just instinctively jumping on Falwell's brain child...I think this is ethically questionable whether you're dealing with a predominately conservative OR predominately liberal institution.
  18. You've gotta love the double standard. If a male teacher takes advantage of a 12 year old girl, he's considered lower than the scum of the earth and is a social pariah/pervert (as he should be). When it's a female teacher taking advantage of a 12 year old boy, she gets to host Hot for Teacher night, and major media outlets print puff pieces about her.
  19. There's no evidence that this interview actually happened...looks fabricated to me.
  20. Oh come on, don't you know anything? You don't just DUMP a colony of fire ants on him...you drop them on his face one by one.
  21. Here's the system I would propose...it might seem crazy, but it's actually pretty strategically nuanced. It's still sudden death. First there's a coin flip. The winner decides if they want to kick or receive. But here's the difference...On offense, you aren't allowed to try for a field goal and you aren't allowed to punt. So if you win the toss and choose to receive, you run the risk of going 4 and out and giving the other team possession on your own 20 yard line. If you choose to kick, you might be giving the game away BUT if you trust your defense to make a few plays, you might be giving yourself the aforementioned field position. Again, first team to score a touchdown wins, and each possession is either the game winning TD or a turnover on downs.
  22. That child is going to be permanently traumatized, not to mention blind. Why can't we give the death penalty for this kind of thing?
