1. I use gallows humor to engage with the world. It’s fine to have different senses of humor but I think it should be clear that hyperbolizing the Giants play in this game was the subject of my joke. 2. It’s 22 years ago now. There’s a great joke in Animal House about the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor. Time passes and things that happened are just things that happened.

The 9/11 tribute before the game was classy but I don’t like how they’re using the game to actually recreate the disaster.

Kind of reminds me of a poker game where the tilted player who’s down 5 buy ins attempts a bluff on a dry board.

I think we’re going to have to get accustomed to Week 1 looking like preseason. Things like KC and Cincy picking up a loss are great but I’m not really taking these game results seriously from a standpoint of predicting the season.

Lots of franchises take this poison pill of paying out a vaguely top 15-20 QB because there aren’t 32 starting caliber guys out there and it feels better to have someone that can at least give you some good moments.

Giants are doing a great job keeping the Cowboys offense off the field.

If I had to choose a non-QB player to start a franchise with, Parsons might be my first pick. Either him or Justin Jefferson.

It's unfortunate that our expectations for Kincaid are drawing comparisons to Travis Kelce due to what we've watched KC do to us in the past. Kelce is already on the Mount Rushmore of all time tight ends and will probably be remembered as the greatest ever. If Kincaid can get 600 yards and 5 TDs as a rookie it will be a big success but a bunch of people here will criticize him for not being an all pro immediately.

People pretty much just remember the last thing they saw, and then you have the fact that building narratives is more compelling than being rational about small sample sizes like the NFL playoffs. After 2021 they remembered one of the greatest playoff games of all time and had the Bills ascending. After 2022 they remember us laying an egg so now we're supposedly overrated. None of that really matters.
